Allison Iraheta Returns to American Idol

American Idol followers - the time has finally come. The time when contestants from previous seasons come back to remind us about what we may have already forgotten.

Later this week, Allison Iraheta - arguably one of the more memorable singers from recent years - will get her chance to sing for us once again. Season 8’s fourth place-finisher will perform “Scars,” a song off her debut album Just Like You. That CD - released December 1 - also includes a song (“No One Else”) co-written by Pink, Greg Wells and Idol‘s Kara DioGuardi.

Kris Allen, last year’s champ, will also be a part of Thursday’s results show. Allen will be sharing footage from his recent trip to Haiti in addition to singing for the audience.

At a recent concert for the students at Cincinnati’s Seton High (those lucky girls won a contest), the American Idol winner performed what is reportedly one of his favorite shower songs.

Now we know what “...Baby One More Time” might sound like if we were lucky enough to be trapped in a bathroom with the cutie.

Kris Allen Gets Album Release Date

November is going to be a busy month for past American Idol winners. On November 11, Carrie Underwood will host the CMA Awards for the second year in a row. Now Kris Allen is getting a date on the calendar.

On Friday, the Season 8 champ used his Twitter account to break professional news. (That’s so very Paula Abdul.) “Hey guys! The album is set to release Nov 17th,” Allen revealed.

Earlier this summer, the 24-year-old said his upcoming album would be built on the sound that helped him win. “Everyone’s been asking me what it’s going to sound like. It will be very similar to what you heard from me on the show — definitely in the pop/rock genre.”

Kris’ as-yet-untitled CD can be pre-ordered on Amazon now.

Record Deal for American Idol’s Kris Allen

UPDATE: Lambert tells E! Online that he has a deal lined up with RCA.

Adam Lambert may still be weighing a future with or without Queen, but Kris Allen is already plugging ahead with his career.

Less than three weeks after winning American Idol, the Season 8 winner has officially scored his record deal. His contract with 19 Recordings and Jive Records falls in line with deals already made with Jordin Sparks and David Archuleta, two other Idol contestants.

“Everyone’s been asking me what it’s going to sound like. It will be very similar to what you heard from me on the show — definitely in the pop/rock genre. I can’t wait to get started!,” Allen revealed in a statement.

Kris will most likely juggle studio time with Idol‘s 50-city tour to make the fall release of his album. His performance of “No Boundaries” currently sits at #23 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

Mike Huckabee Backs Up Kris Allen on Beatles Tune

Combine a former presidential candidate with the current American Idol winner and what do you get? A kinda strange, yet kinda cool, musical collaboration.

This Sunday on the FOX News Channel, Kris Allen (an Arkansas native) and Mike Huckabee (the former Arkansas governor) will team up for an acoustic version of “Yesterday.” The result is a performance even Adam Lambert supporters should applaud.

Locations for the annual American Idol tour have just been announced. The 50-city event will bring the Top Ten finalists from Portland, OR all the way over to Manchester, NH. Sales for all engagements will begin Saturday, May 9.
