Paul McCartney and Thom Yorke

Paul McCartney is being advised by his daughter to collaborate with Thom Yorke. The Beatles legend has been urged by Stella to work with the Radiohead frontman but he admits, despite being keen, he is afraid the 44-year-old singer will turn down his offer because his schedule is too hectic to fit him in.

"My daughter Stella is very keen. She's got a project, she keeps saying to me, 'Ring Thom and just go into the studio and just see what you come out with.' I'm a bit sort of paranoid to just ring him up. 'Hey Thom, it's Paul here. What do you fancy, what are you doing? Do you fancy writing something?' Just in case he says, 'Er, actually I'm busy.'"

Paul McCartney: Yoko Wasn’t to Blame for Beatles Split

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gossip, Rumors, Rock,

Yoko Ono and Paul McCartneyPaul McCartney has insisted Yoko Ono wasn't responsible for the end of The Beatles.

The 70-year-old musician has attempted to end decades of anger directed at the Japanese artist for the band's demise in 1970 and is adamant his decision to quit the group wasn't motivated by a dislike of John Lennon's widow - a much held belief.

In an interview with David Frost for television channel Al Jazeera English, Paul said, "She certainly didn't break the group up, the group was breaking up."

Paul insists they were a number of different reasons why the band - which also included the late George Harrison and Ringo Starr - ended and he credits Yoko with inspiring some of John's best work. The "Hey Jude" songwriter believes the different creative influences Yoko, 79, brought into John's life helped him write tracks such as "Imagine" and "Dear Prudence."

Paul McCartney Plays Tribute to John Lennon on SNL

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Performances, Videos, Rock,

Sir Paul McCartney helped to create one of SNL’s most memorable episodes over the weekend.

In-between appearing in skits, McCartney took to the stage no less than four times to perform several hits -- but the most poignant was definitely when he honored former bandmate and collaborator John Lennon. This year marks the 30th since the rocker’s death, and McCartney played tribute by playing “A Day in the Life” and Lennon’s own “Give Peace a Chance.”

Watch (and listen!) in the video above.

John Lennon and Yoko Ono

has revealed plans to write an autobiography about her eventful life with John Lennon.

“I would love to do it. I just have to find the time,” the 76-year-old widow said. “It will be my next book, which will be written in the next five years.”

Yoko - who was blamed by many Beatles’ fans for causing the legendary band to split - previously claimed she wouldn’t release a book for fear of hurting the families of people close to the group, including Lennon’s ex-wife. John and Cynthia - who had a son Julian together - divorced in 1968, one year before his marriage to Yoko, the mother of his son Sean.

Lennon later died in 1980 after being shot by deranged fan Mark Chapman outside his New York apartment building.

Simon CowellSimon Cowell has blasted , claiming they would have failed auditions on The X Factor.

The music mogul - who once rejected the Spice Girls, the best-selling girl group of all time - says he would have kicked the iconic band off his British TV talent show unless they fired drummer Ringo Starr. “If The Beatles came on the show we would have said, ‘We’ll take those three - , John Lennon and George Harrison - but probably lose the drummer,’” the 49-year-old said. “With Ringo, I’m afraid, we would have said ‘bad news’.”

Speaking in a US television interview with his Britain’s Got Talent co-star Amanda Holden, Simon also revealed what drives him. “I like winning, Amanda. That’s what excites me,” Cowell admitted.

Simon is now focusing on the career of Scottish singing sensation , who will perform on the final of America’s Got Talent next week. Her debut album is due for release in November, and is expected to shoot to the top of the charts in America and Britain.

New Old John Lennon Interview Revealed

John Lennon

An old interview with John Lennon has recently come to light, revealing that there might have been a great deal of animosity among the post-breakup members. In an interview with Rolling Stone’s Jann Wenner, Lennon unleashed some anger toward former band mates.

“We got fed up with being sidemen for Paul [McCartney],” says Lennon at one point. He also said the “music died” in the group and that “we never improved,” which I think plenty of critics would argue with.

Beatles fans might get a thrill when they see endorsing a philanthropic campaign from the grave…or, they might be a little weirded out.

In a new ad spot, Lennon’s voice and image are used to promote “One Laptop per Child,” a project that offers solar-powered computers to poverty-stricken kids. As we all know, John Lennon died from gunshot wounds in 1980 (almost exactly twenty-eight years ago). His widow Yoko Ono approved the endorsement for the “Laptop” foundation.
