Maroon 5 Boosts Worker Productivity, Glee Prompts Anger

Maroon 5

Maroon 5 makes workers "more productive." A new study carried out by online music concierge service Songza discovered that half of respondents believe the group's hit single "Moves Like Jagger" makes them do better at work, while 42 per cent of those surveyed rely on Gotye's "Somebody I Used to Know" to give them an early morning boost.

By contrast, just over a quarter of people claim the Glee cast's cover of Journey's "Don't Stop Believin" provokes "deep feelings of resentment and anger."

Justin Bieber Makes ‘Beautiful’ Music with Taylor Swift

Justin Bieber and Taylor SwiftJustin Bieber and Taylor Swift have made a "beautiful" record together.

The "Baby" hitmaker has recorded a track with the "Love Story" singer, and though few details about the collaboration have been made public, Justin's girlfriend Selena Gomez has heard the song and is very impressed.

"It's beautiful. I don't know if it's going to make it on the record, but it is beautiful," she said.

Meanwhile, the 19-year-old star admitted she has no plans to return to the recording studio any time soon as she is currently focused on her acting career: "We're maybe going to do some fun remixes, but right now it's just about movies."

Selena was thrilled recently when she learned Lea Michele will perform her track "Love You Like A Love Song" on a forthcoming episode of Glee and admits the inclusion of her track came as a surprise: "I didn't even know and my label didn't even know it was happening. Cory Monteith texted me a video of someone singing it and I was like, 'Wait, that's Lea!' I asked him if they were on set and he sent me back a smiley face. So that's how we found out."

Dave Grohl: Not Everyone Loves Glee

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Artist News, Gossip, Alternative,

Dave Grohl 2011 Grammys“I watched 10 minutes [of Glee]. It’s not my thing,” Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl doesn’t want any of his songs to be re-classified as “showtunes” any time soon… or, ever. In a candid, f-word-laced interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the singer bluntly stated his dislike for Glee and for series co-creator Ryan Murphy.

It’s not the first time Murphy has drawn the ire of those in the music industry. He had a well-publicized press battle with Kings of Leon, who originally rejected Glee when the show asked for the right to use some of their songs.

“It’s every band’s right, you shouldn’t have to do [expletive deleted] Glee,” Grohl said. “And then the guy who created Glee [Ryan Murphy] is so offended that we’re not, like, begging to be on his [expletive deleted] show.”

“The Glee guy, what a [expletive deleted] jerk,” Grohl went on. “It’s just like, dude, maybe not everyone loves Glee. Me included.”

Watch Glee’s Lea Michele kicking off Super Bowl XLV with her gorgeous vocals in the video above.

Michele's rendition of "America the Beautiful" surely made hearts weep with patrotism. She was so stunning -- audibly and visually. Maybe the planners will do the right thing next year and ask her to sing the national anthem.

Glee vs. Kings of Leon

Glee cast photo

It’s starting to get ugly between Glee writer/co-creator Ryan Murphy and Kings of Leon drummer Nathan Followill, and all because of “Use Somebody.”

The band famously turned Glee down when the show requested to use the song.

Murphy responded to the Kings of Leon snub in the midst of a lengthy Hollywood Reporter article, saying “[expletive deleted] you, Kings of Leon.” He went on to say, “Okay, hate on arts education” and a few other choice statements.

Nathan Followill fired off an angry Twitter tirade telling Murphy to “let it go. See a therapist, get a manicure, buy a new bra.” He jumped back on his page two hours later to offer an apology: “I’m sorry 4 anyone that misconstrued my comments as homophobic or mysoginistic [sic]. I’m so not that kind of person. I really do apologize.”
