Believe it or not—Mackenzie Phillips wasn’t the only buzzworthy guest on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show last week. On Thursday, the talk show queen also welcomed Jay-Z to her Chicago set.

During his visit to the show, the 39-year-old covered a number of topics including his drug-dealing past, Rihanna and his nice smell. The musician also taught the talk show host how to rap and engaged in an amicable debate.

Winfrey, who openly admits that she is not a “big fan of rap music,” explained that her feelings about the genre stem from the use of “misogynist lyrics and because of the use of the N-word.” The latter issue is something and the host will never see eye to eye on.

“It’s more words. People give words power. And for our generation, what we did was we took the word and took the power out of that word. You know, we turned a word that was very ugly and hurtful into a term of endearment,” the artist explained. “The problem is racism. That’s really the problem.”

And though it was clearly a topic Oprah could have devoted a whole hour to, she opted not to go off on him like she did with author . “So, okay—we agree to disagree,” she closed.
