George Clooney’s Medical Mistake

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrity Gossip,

George Clooney‘s driver took him to a dentist when he broke his hand.

The Hollywood actor was in a great deal of pain when he slammed his digits in a car door while at his home in Lake Como, Italy, and asked his aide to drive him to see an emergency doctor. However, the driver became confused and ended up taking him to a physician who specializes in teeth.

“He drives me into town… and he takes me to a dentist. Dentist’s chair, dentist’s lamp, everything. The guy comes in, pulls the dentist’s lamp down onto my hand. He starts pulling on my fingers, which really hurts. At last, he says, ‘Hmm, I think it’s broken…’ I’m saying, ‘Is there a real doctor anywhere in here?,’” Clooney recalled.

George Clooney Pays For Plane Jump

Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celeb News, Celebrity Gossip,

George Clooney and Lisa Snowdon during better timesGeorge Clooney has pledged $17,000 to watch his ex-girlfriend jump out of a plane. Sounds like charity sadism to me.

The Ocean’s 13 star has donated the money to Lisa Snowdon’s double charity parachute jump attempt, pushing her way past her original target of raising $7,000 for two children’s charities.

A source revealed, “George was so impressed with Lisa’s guts and determination that he wanted to help. Lisa had no idea how generous he would be until she logged onto her website and saw how much he put down.”

Model-and-TV host Lisa had an on/off relationship with George between 2004 and 2006, but they have remained friends ever since.

Lisa admits she is nervous about doing the two separate jumps for Shooting Star Children’s Hospice and Help a London Child, on her fund-raising page: “I’m a little bit nervous, especially about doing this twice (I don’t even know if I’ll enjoy the first one!) but knowing how much this will benefit both of these charities will really help me.”

Although the pair are on friendly terms, it seems unlikely George, 48, and Lisa, 38, will rekindle their romance. He is currently dating Italian TV presenter Elisabetta Canalis.

First Look: Clooney and Bridges Staring at Goats

Considering George Clooney‘s upcoming film, The Men Who Stare at Goats, centers around cloud-busting, flying, Jedi-trained psychic killers hired by the government, I’m shocked that I haven’t heard about this film sooner.

With Jeff Bridges, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey, and J.K. Simmons rounding off the cast, I can’t say that I disagree with E! as they dub this movie the “Greatest Film Ever Made.” The goats drop when the eccentric comedy hits theaters November 6.

Leonardo DiCaprio taking lessons to sound like Frank Sinatra

Leonardo DiCaprio Frank Sinatra is taking singing lessons to sound like Frank Sinatra. Leo is hoping to portray the legendary Sinatra in a new biopic, but needs to prove to director Martin Scorsese he has the vocal talent to carry it off. “Leonardo has hired a top vocal coach to get him sounding like Sinatra. He is a massive fan of the singer and has always wanted to play him. He would be upset to miss out on the leading role because his singing wasn’t up to scratch. He is now in intensive vocal coaching lessons to replicate Sinatra’s distinctive style.” said a source.

However, Leonardo faces competition from stars including George Clooney, Justin Timberlake, Harry Connick Jr. and Jamie Foxx. It was recently claimed Jamie - who played jazz musician Ray Charles in Ray - is being lined up to portray the Rat Pack singer after film bosses saw similarities between the two stars’ backgrounds.

Box Office Breakdown: Beverly Hills Chihuahua is Weekend’s Top Dog

Beverly Hills Chihuahua

On a weekend with seven new wide releases, it was that emerged as Best in Show. The film, one of the few family-oriented titles currently being offered, earned nearly $30 million over the past three days. That amount was enough to easily surpass Eagle Eye, last week’s #1. The talking-dogs feature also gave Disney its best October opening thus far.

Of the other new entries in the Top Ten, one was religion-centric while the other had political overtones. (Could this be an election year?) Coming in at #10 was , the documentary from Bill Maher. Although the movie was only offered in limited release, it pulled in $6,792 per theater. That was the second highest average amongst the chart toppers. Box Office Breakdown: Eagle Eye Soars to #1

Eagle Eye

Despite mixed reviews for his latest film, Shia LaBeouf once again proved he has box office appeal. , a film from Disturbia‘s D.J. Caruso, earned $29.2 million over the past three days and the #1 spot. Even a Friday night presidential debate couldn’t stop the thriller from putting nearly $16 million between itself and Nights in Rodanthe, this weekend’s #2. Although Nights - the third pairing for Diane Lane and Richard Gere - took in $13.4 million, the romantic drama did almost $1 million less than 2002’s Unfaithful.

- a faith-based film starring Kirk Cameron - surprised many with its 4th place finish. Although it was only available in 839 theaters, the movie had an impressive $8111 per screen average. Meanwhile, two films outside the Top Ten boasted averages over the $10,000 mark. Box Office Breakdown: Burn After Reading Smokes Past Competition

Burn After Reading

Around this same time last year, Tyler Perry was beating George Clooney in a battle at the box office. Now the Sexiest Man Alive is having his day.

This past weekend, cineplexes were kept busy with a handful of new releases. Although each film had a chance of reaching #1, - starring Clooney, Brad Pitt and Frances McDormand - emerged as the eventual winner. But the news wasn’t so bad for the other three contenders. Theatergoers clearly starving for fresh material placed all four wide release entries into the chart’s four top slots.
