Getting Into Character: Sean Penn as Wild-Haired Rock Star

No, Sean Penn is not playing The Cure’s Robert Smith in a movie. And no, this is not a comedy a la Fast Times of Ridgemont High.
The two-time Oscar winner is seen here with caked-on makeup and teased-up hair for This Must Be the Place, a drama about an “aging rock star” (Penn) seeking to find the Nazi who “tormented his father in a concentration camp.”
The production – also starring Frances McDormand and Eve Hewson - will shoot in both Ireland and the United States.
