Hey all,
I recently got a :CueCat and was wondering where I could find some unique uses for it.
So far I have…

-“Scanning” in passwords rather than typing them
-Indexing things (although I dont have anything I really need to index)
-Using it to open your doors
-Some guy has a house setup where he has a walkway up to the door and windows to the left of the walkway before you reach the door. Inside, his computer sits infront of that wall with windows. What he did was wire his CueCat and pointed it out the window. He set it up so that he can scan a grocery membership club VIP card on his keychain through the window when he is waking in and, when the right barcode is scanned, the computer detects it and he wired some kind of actuator to the door to open the deadbolt when this happens. So he can now enter his house by scanning a barcode (which he already conveniently carries around on his keychain)

Any suggestions?

the door lock thing…ya, i guess that’s cool, but sounds like it involves some effort…you can just go buy a remote deadbolt for you door, lol.

Ya I got like 4 of them. 😊  They sent me one and I got one in my Forbes subscription, another from my grandfather’s Forbes subscription, and my dad got one at work.
