The only problem with downloading Counterstrike is, no one is gunna be on.  The world has moved on to like Half Life Deathmatch, Counter Strike Source, World Of War Craft, Diablo 2,  Battlefield 2, etc…  The only thing I could suggest is downloading bots for Counter Strike and playing it like that, or break down and buy Source if you want an up to date game with thousands of players.  But thats only a suggestion.

if you own half-life then yeah its free just go to my games on steam and double click counter-strike and itll download it for you. so many people still play the old 1.6 version but i prefer the newer one cs:source.

I was very skeptical at first but i’ve grown to love it. I joined a 1.6 server a month or two ago and almost puked. The graphics and gameplay were so different and primative. Source is without a doubt a 10/10.

I agree, source is fantastic.  Source has amazing graphics and lots of players play online, so you dont have to worry about no one playing.  The bots are so much real time, they actually take cover and help you out using your commands.  Great game id agree 10/10.

Well if u really want it for free u could get it from limewire but u would have to go threw like a whole bunch of files just to find the right one on limewire… it might be a pain in the ass but if u can find it…. it wont be anymore!
