The second post there helped me.
Click Start->Run-> type “firefox -p” (without firefox running.)
Create a new profile with a suitable name.
Open Firefox with new profile created. Try to see if this new profile will accept new themes. If yes then there is a problem with your old profile. You may want to move bookmarks and preferences from old profile to new one and use new one as default.
Yes I figured it out by going to their forums. Thanks much for the info though, I do appreciate it. It was a drag to redownload all of my extensions though, and I even had to do it twice cause my first new profile messed up :oops:
