What exactly was the problem with using phones on planes anyway? Does it REALLY disrupt things?

I think they assume it possibly could disprupt something so they take every precaution. Just my guess.

It is just in case they disrupt something, they don’t actually disrupt anything, usually.

they’ve tested it with new cell phones and it hasn’t acttually interfered with anything on board the plane. they:

1) Don’t wanna risk it   and
2) want you to use the expensive phones that require a credit card.

Thats the truth, risking it is not worth crashing into another plane, and those phones are like 5-10 bux a minute, so theyre makin a killin off of it.

it’s true, they don’t do anything to the plane itself.  however… it would be HELL ON EARTH to be stuck on a plane with 6 people around you yacking on cell phones.  “What?  Can you hear me now?  Hang on, I’m near the wing so you need to speak up so I can hear you!”

never allow cell phones on planes.  never.
