I’ve owned an x-10 home automation kit for a couple of years and just found out that you can use an IR extender and a universal remote to control these devices, which was a big surprise to me.

Now i want to buy a universal remote to try it (and also to condense 5 other remotes to one to simplify my life)...

I’m comparing between the Harmony 880 (which is supposed to work well with x-10 stuff) and the icon remote which is made by x-10 but am wondering about any help from those who may own either one….  Is there even a third brand that would work well for this purpose if both of these brands stink?

any advice would be appreciated…
