How many partitions do you have on your HD?  I have a 200GB drive and I broke it up into 2 40GB partitions (1 boot, 1 for my music) and a 120GB partition (for stroage).  I don’t really see any difference and wanted people’s take on breaking up you HD like this.  What you rolling with?  Discuss…

I have a 160 HD split into 100, 40, 20. The 100 is for movies and music and all the other stuff. The 20 is for files that are downloaded. And the 40 is for system files. I also have a new 80 GB that I just intallsed for TV tuner capturs (man those things take space). The some partitions just make my pc more organized and make it easier to access files (Ex. Download partition. And then whenever I do a reformatt I don’t have to worry about my files getting deleted because I don’t erase any other partion than the 40 when installing.

I have a 250 gig and dont have it split . . . . . . . why haha

I used PartitionMagic to do mine.  What did you use?

I tried Partition Magic one time and ended up having to reinstall Windows because of an error. I would still like to give it another try though. I split my partitions by going into control panel> admin tools>computer management>disk manager

Of course this only works if you have partitions in mind from the minute you install Windows. Otherwise you have to use Partition Magic.

my 40gig is split 3gig swap, 35gig OS/storage

i’m using 3gb of the os/storage :think:
