Hey everyone,
Within this past week, I’ve been having a difficult time with my Inspiron 5150. First, the computer refused to recognize discs. It kept showing up as No Disc when I tried to open DVDs in DVDShrink 3.1. It didn’t work, then was able to read one disc the following day, then absolutely wouldn’t read anything else after that.

A few days after that, it began to refuse to recognize my power supply, and will only boot off the slowly-dwindling battery supply. Last night, it kept flashing back and forth between the power cord icon and the half-full battery icon. I watched the battery meter for a while, wondering if that meant it was charging… just to see the battery go from 40% to 39%. I guess not.

I called Dell, who let me know my warranty expired 8 months ago and won’t let me renew it. Any computer experts know what could be wrong with the laptop, that would prevent it from recognizing both discs and the power supply?
