Just recently I bought the LG-LD531 DVD player which has the “DivX Capabilities” feature *as well as the mem sticks (for PSPs).

I was wondering with this DivX capability, can I just download a divX movie, put it onto a CD-R as a DATA cd or VCD and watch it on my DVD player? Or do I need a DVD burner?

If I can burn as a DATA CD then I’m fine, but if I can use my CDRW drive to make a VCD and have it work on my dvd player, how would I go about doing that?

Thanks in advance

I do not know if you can just burn a Data CD and it’ll play. However you should try burning a data CD with a CDRW and try it out. That way you find out if it works and if it doesn’t or does you can just erase whatever you wrote on the CD.

It’d have to be a data cd, VCD is a whole different format in which both video and audio are encoded in MPEG-1 format, not divX.
