I spent like half a day writing this program on my Atari 800XL, PC back when in the mid-80’s. We were so poor that we didn’t have a floppy drive for the system. In fact, back then people were using tape drivers with regular audio-cassettes to save their files anyway.
So anyway, the system also had this cartridge slot, to play games. Because I couldn’t save to a floppy, any programs that you create would only run in RAM, and you would lose it if the PC was shut off or reset. When I was done my hours of BASIC coding, my brother ran over to the PC and said: “Yay! Now it’s time for games!” and he snapped the PC off before I could stop him. #-O
I think all the abuse I gave my brother from that point on stemmed from that one incident. :|
