Its because of the RIAA and MPAA cracking down on the torrent engines. Its really sad. They have some of the worst business models ever, just like the stupid airline industry.

for small apps, bearshare works well for me.  i suppose any program for that network works fine, but its pretty slow.  But there are still a lot of ways to get what you want.  and about it being immoral and all that, i agree but i dont have any money.  If i had enough money, i would buy all my software etc.  i know, its a crappy argument but too bad.  they should make all software become freeware and then they wouldnt have to deal with piracy.

i was pissed.. i love suprnova i definately admit i downloaded movies off of it but it was also awesome for tv shows that aren’t released anywhere.

movie’s are getting so ridiculously priced but then again that’s because there’s so much theft.. it’s this vicious cycle.  I payed 9 bucks to see Alexander a few weekends ago which was a horrrrribbble movie i mean horrrrrible.  My friends and I are very into pirated movies because well we watch a lot of movies and when there’s 2 movies out that we really want to see and 2 we kind of want to see.. well go pay for the 2 we really want to see and the others we’ll download.  I mean I have no problem at all paying like 7 or 8 bucks to see a movie I really want to see, hey even 9 if i want to see it that bad.. but for me to see something like Alexander where I really don’t know if it’s going to be good in normal situations I would have never paid 9 bucks.  I live in the NYC and movies are even higher priced then 9.  I saw Ocean’s 12 last weekend at it was 10.50.. amazingly my best friends boyfriend was nice enough to pay for the three of us and it was a good movie.

Like it’s just ridiculous these prices… I understand why it’s occuring but it’s really only encouraging theft.  Like for instance when Spiderman 2 came out my friends really wanted to see it in the theaters so I went along.  Now at one theater near us it’s 5 dollar Tuesdays.. where on tuesday it’s 5 bucks for a movie.. used to be 4 then got raised.  So we went on a Tuesday specifically so we could save a few bucks.  Well guess what Sony did.. because they wanted really high grossing for the first week in theaters they made a policy that no theaters are allowed to give sales on tickets, accept coupons or give any type of discount for Spiderman 2.  How ridiculous is that?

The same goes for the music industry.  It’s just all pretty ridiculous.  Like you know those commercials before the movies where the set painters talk about how they’re the ones getting hurt.. like I just think that’s ridiculous I totally get what they’re saying and that’s terrible.. but then how about instead of getting 20 mil a picture the big stars take a freaking paycut.. they’ve got money coming out of their ears.. but that’s just the absurdity of the industry now isn’t it.
