psp = games, movies, not good for music at all (extra money for card and small amount of storage) if you want gmaes get a psp, otherwise get a MP3 player with video capability, i suggest not getting the ipod video because its gay, get that new one that looks like it by creative. and put movies on it 😊

I wrote an article on this for my friend’s site. Too lazy to copy and paste it all but feel free to visit it at http://smb.ridv.net/2005/10/techmusicvideo-sony-psp-v-ipod-video.html

I just ordered a new video iPod 2 days ago.  I’m not much of a gammer though.

I’m not getting the iPod for the video either.. no one should get it for the video. It’s an Mp3 player with video capabilities, not a video player with Mp3 capabilities.  I just don’t see myself sitting around anywhere and watching a movie on a hand held device.  I’d rather watch a movie on my computer screen even.  I guess on a long plane ride it would be nice, but listening to music is too.

I got the iPod for the storage.  I liked the fact that it could hold pictures and video, but storage for mp3’s was my main concern.. next to formfactor.  IMO The iPod is the best Mp3 player.  The Zen’s are just too bulk.  Looks like a tape player from the early 90s.  The iRiver and Dell’s are too bulky too.  And the ones that are small enough usually don’t hold near the amount that an iPod does.

This would be a nobrainer for me, but it’s obviously a decision that must be made on a per-person basis.

if you want to put your device in a pocket, go with ipod.  i dont carry my psp on my person because i cant walk normally with something that big against my leg, but my ipod is fine even with my phone in my pocket as well.  unless you’re wearing a jacket or something (in fl we dont wear jackets).

if you want games, obviously go with the psp. (the games are expensive, but there are less-than-legal ways of getting them if you get the gigapack)
for music, definitely go with ipod.
for video, get the gigapack version of the psp.

I carry both around when I travel. The PSP is great for games, and the Ipod has all the memory and music space that I could ever need.

If you had to choose one, I’d get the PSP. You can mod the crap out of it which is always fun.
