and I am pissed. My car is probably totalled. My head and neck are killing me. My wrist hurts. If I wasn’t wearing my seat belt I would probably be dead or paralyzed. This guy had a speed limit of 25 mph, and yet managed to knock my car a good 15 feet from where I was, and basically destroy the whole side.

I have no insurance, so I now have a $700 ticket. He got to walk away with no ticket, and no damage because he has a huge pickup truck with one of those add on heavy steel bumpers.

My wife wants me to go to the emergency room, but with a $700 ticket, a $140 dollar towing job, and having to go to the doctor tomorrow, I will now have to take my chances and just stay home.

Oh, and now how am I supposed to get to work?  :x

Oh no, Andru! :o

The important thing is that you’re okay.  I hope you’re okay and that things work out!

Yes, I am okay…aside from maybe having a concussion. It could have been a lot worse. I didnt realize it until my wife drove over with my baby. Then it was like…wow…that could have been the last time I saw them when I left the house.

And they say accidents happen close to home. I was literally less than a 1 minute drive from my front door.

ouch. yes,  car accidents suck. def not good that you drive without insurance though, that’s downright risky. good to hear that you are ok though. i would def go to the doctor and get a check up. you may feel alright now, but things can change dramatically if you dont get taken care of and get the green light from the doctor.

do you have health insurance? cuz that should cover med costs if you can’t afford it. if you don’t, isn’t there a county hospital where you can get checked out for free?

:o

I’m sure your job will understand.

Yes, it’s just good that you are okay.  The doctor thing is just a precaution, so it’s good even though things look “okay.”  It sounds like you have health insurance, but if you didn’t, Emergency Room bills are ridiculous.

I was just thinking this morning how there are a bunch of idiots on the road.  :|

Yeah, I have health insurance - but dont have car insurance simply because I cant afford it. Being 23 and male for one thing makes it expensive. Plus, we have ridiculously high doctors bills from when my son was born 3 months premature back in January and spent 10 weeks in intensive care. That came out to over 1 million dollars.  :|

Our portion of that is “only” like $5,000. Man, I hate money problems. I dont even know what I am going to do about getting another car, because as it was I could barely afford gas for the one I had!  😛

Sorry to hear about the accident Andru.  You should setup a help andru fund, and allow all the geralivers to donate through paypal.

and i don’t want to sound like i’m gloating because I’m really not.  but I always thought I had it bad with my bills and how much money I see coming in and going out with car payment, bike payment, mortgage, and everything else.  but I have the money to do all that and pay monthly bills along with slowly paying off my credit cards.  I guess I’m a lot better off then I thought I was.  its probably also an advantage with the cost of living where i live, and the average family income being around 28k at most i believe.  I’m sure you live in a slightly bigger place then i do andru.

Andru, good thing you walked out ok.  When you can walk away without a scratch money is just a minor problem. But i feel your pain. Money is tight for me as well.  I lost my uncle from a car accident awhile back and the other guy walked away without charge.  He left behind a wife and 3 kids. The argument was that my uncle didnt have headlights on but he had the right of way when the damn bastard drove right into him at full speed.  Glad you’re alrite!  😊

i don’t know what the law is in your state but cant you sue for at least your blue book value of your car and you could BS some injury and emotional trauma. Because from your report it sounds like you were like at a light and u got nailed from behind by some big ass truck. but i don’t know who was at fault so…

It is but if dont commit any infractions while a police officer is around you wouldnt get caught. Sadly here Andru got into a car accident where everyone calls the cops and ambulance. But its alright, you can live with money problems. You can’t live with out a functioning heart.  :D Glad you made it out OK.( well not economically OK but physically OK)

Dude… Sorry, you could set up ref feral links and every one sign up and you sell the stuff, or get the cash. That should be enough to buy a cheap used car… around 2500 or 3000 all you need around here for a decently cheap used car…

You guys are all awesome. I appreciate the support. I dont like getting money from our readers for nothing, although it is very generous of you all. What does help, though, is if you buy an ad on the site - it benefits both parties. Gear Live gets the cash from the sale, and the buyer gets a link on Gear Live or on the Gear Live boards. The price starts at $5.00, and you can even use it to advertise any of your referral links.  :mischeif:

hmm..Andru I don’t have a business to advertise (although i wished I did).  And I have too many referral links to advertise anyway.

Just let me know where to sent it.

I may be completely out of line being one of the noobs here, but first of all…i’m sure everyone would be more then happy to throw a few bucks into the kitty for a buy andru a new car and medical coverage fund. Second, another dumb comment, but enter all the free sites with cash cards and goto the top of the congas, i’m sure no one would bitch at all. Last, how about some kind of fund raising type of raffle. everyone kicks in a few bucks and you raffle off top spots in new congas, or better yet some kind of top spot/mod position for the new conga idea you have.

You’ve made a solid place here not only for information and free crap, but for people to come to, hang out and meet people. This place seems very much like an extended family for alot of the members, and not letting them help might be a little bit like pushing them away. It’s not like you’re twisting arms to get people to help here. People are volunteering.

Shocked - Nice words, once more. Hell, I could milk it for all its worth and just set up a Paypal account where people coul djust send me money. I dont feel right doing that though. But, like I said, there are ways to help that are mutually beneficial. Just scroll all the way to the bottom of this page. The ad block down there has a “Your ad here” link. If you dont want to scroll down, here it is:

http://2.adbrite.com/mb/click.php?sid=19067&banner_id=0&ssc=15ba3ccc267d547f4d67ece252f66005

You can pay as little as $5 - and that helps me and helps the buyer. Like I said, you can make it as simple as “Click here for a Free Digital Camera” and link it to your Cameras4Free referral link. You get referral traffic, and I get the money paid for the ad.

But, another way people can help is to simply sign up for my cameras4free or dvrs4free links. Or my Prizecube ones I guess. Then I can just get the cash from those two sites - but I am guessing everyone that is reading this already has accounts at those sites. But if not, the links are there.

The point of my post, though, wasn’t to get any cash out of anyone. You guys really are too kind. I am touched.  👏
