I assume you are referring to a Linksys WLAN router. I had the same issue with a DLink model. Does your Linksys have the G speedboost turned on? Can you change the channel? I resolved the issue by turning off Dlink’s equivalent of speedboost and changing the TX/RX channel to something else.
It seemed the doubling tech was quite sensitive, by turning it off I gained quite a bit of stability.
