How is Gratis still alive?  Did you cancel immediately? POLL

Let me start by saying that we all know how Gratis makes money.  When I sign up with AOL through Gratis, they get a phat check and that pays for my iPod/TV/whatever.  But… I’m willing to bet 99% of the people who do this are cancelling their subscriptions to these companies.  So, in the end, it is the companies like AOL, Infone, Stamps.com, etc. who are paying for our ipods and getting little or nothing in return.  Am I wrong?

Let me know how much your ipod/TV/whatever cost you.  How long did you wait to cancel (if you did).

But there are enough stupid folks out there that forget to cancel, so that they still come out making money.  Here, we’re the elite savvy technical types, with message boards for assistance and guidance.

In fact, Gratis is growing even larger.  They’ve moved on to digital cameras, and now to PSP’s .

With hard work and perseverance and patience, we certainly do win.  Me, I’m too lazy and impatient, so I just bought my Rio Carbon instead.

too lazy?  wait… so you didn’t sign up for any of them?  aren’t you an admin?  why not get in on the congas like the rest of GL mods/admin?  you’d get one of the first spots in line, i’m certain.

c’mon hec!

Actually I wouldn’t have one of the first stops if I signed up for the conga at this time.  Heh, it’d be a while.  😊

I thought I’d be a refreshing example.  Half the folks on the board think that mods are getting special treatment or jumping the conga line.
