its a conspiracy. they’re evil. i love junk mail filters.

they use random strings, and constantly send emails.

IE— they will send to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address), .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)  and so on and so forth, eventually, they’ll get to .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) and I’ll have it in my inbox—if it doesn’t bounce, look out because that opens the flood gate.

I have an email server running on my machine, and before I locked out all non domain name users from using it for outgoing, a spam company took ahold of it and tried to send out about 400,000 emails through it.  My P3 450 wasn’t happy.  I have no idea how they found it.  I guess there are things out there just scanning the mail server port for open, and active servers.

exactly.  with it being only a 450mhz, it took me nearly 6 hours to kill everything that was in the cue.

Hey, I just upgraded from a 500 Mhz, so I can imagine your pain.  My Lotus Notes at my job is accepting a mess-load of spam, and the only way I can block it is by placing that specific email its filter system.  But the spam is always coming from unique randomly made up hotmail accounts.

these were coming from all sorts of randomly generated email address, I doubt any of them exist.  I loved getting the email from spamcop while I was at work saying my IP was blacklisted for spam.  Had to go home, clean out the email server, block it from everything other then my own email, then talk to spamcop and tell them what happened, so I was removed from the blacklist.

I know what you mean.  I started taking all of my credit card applications I get in the mail, and sending everything, minus the pages with my name, back to them in their pre paid envelope.  Now if only I could do something like that to AOL.

Man, my dad’s account gets flooded with junk email every single fricken day!  He gets like 20+ spam emails going into his bulk mail folder all the time.  Sheesh, on my SBC account I get like 1 or 2 a day, and on my gmail account, I get like 5-10 a day.  Sucks.

I get no spam in my gmail address 😊
