So, today I caught SpaceShipOne’s historic flight into space, where they are sure to clinch the $10 million X Prize. Virgin Atlantic Airways has already announcec they will be licensing SpaceShipOne’s technology as they are set to invest $25 million into developing a commercial space flight division which they will called Virgin Galactic.

What do you think? Are you ready to pay to go out into space?

dang, I wanted that X prize.

If the price is reasonable I think it would be awesome to go to space.

Yeah I saw that last night.  I want to go to space too, but it looked like a pretty gnarly ride up there, or maybe the guy that was holding the camera was shaking…?  Either way, that would be sweet.  I wonder how much it would be.

Yeah, they said most of the shaking was from the camera, not the craft.

I dont know…the price of a ticket is something like $200,000 from what I hear, and even then you dont get the full anti-gravity effect as you have to stay strapped in with the seat belt.

What is the point? The view of the Earth?

Hey, eventually it will get cheaper, and maybe they’ll let you take off your seatbelt when they’re sure that safety is good. Maybe that’ll happen in my lifetime!

yea you get just 4 minutes in space with a seatbelt on for $200,000.  virgin galactic should build a space station hotel thing or a moon base.  then i would be going up there.  but id get a free ride as a janitor on there.  or id just go to gratis’ freespacerides.com.
