[quote author=“minijigga”]does anyone have any screenies of gameplay?

Let’s start with this one.  Here are screens of its new Metal Gear game.  The gameplay is different than what we’ve seen on the consoles, but I’m only posting this to show an idea of graphical ability.

[quote author=“HectorGearLive”][quote author=“Tighr”] I’m very afraid that Nintendo will make the same mistake twic—thrice. First the N64, then the Gamecube (both of which I own) and then this. I’m afraid the system will be too kiddie and not enough bang for the mature crowd.I will be the last to say that the Gamecube sucks.  I really wish I had the system, because it does have some incredible games.  Metroid and Zelda alone would make it worth it.  Nintendo knows how to design games for its own system, and that’s what people will get the DS for.

I never said the gamecube “sucks”. I said I owned one, and that Nintedo decided NOT to go the mature route and instead go the kiddie route with it. I have SSBM and Zelda for my gamecube, both of which are excellent games. But what am I looking forward to? The new Zelda. Because it looks more mature than WW was. More dark, more exciting. But the image that Nintendo has put forth for its console is ultimately hurting it. I was thinking about buying ESPN NFL 2005 for the gamecube until I realized that they didn’t even make it for gamecube! Its only on Xbox and PS2. I was pissed. I might still get Madden 2005 (I already have Madden 2002 and NCAA 2004) but I was looking to get a different title than one I already owned.

I never said the gamecube “sucks”.

Never said you did.  😉  I was simply showing that I recognize Nintendo can put out quality stuff.

That does suck about no ESPN for Gamecube.  I know I’d be looking forward to the new Zelda though.  😊

I can see why, it looks awesome. At first I thought that was a one of those “simulated” screens. Is it? Someone with photoshop and too much time making me drool?

I think you can still download one movie-file a day from IGN, even without subscribing to the Insider access.  But anyway:

The PSP Demo Reel

Enjoy!  :D

As of now, sources are saying the DS will go on sale in the US in mid-November - a mere three months away.

I’m not really into portables, haven’t been since Sega’s GameGear.

1) I get motion (car, boat, plane) sickness really easy. I can’t even read in the car. Whenever I tried to play portables while in motion, I would get sick and become instantly starving. Also, I’d get headaches and my eyes would be extremely sore.

2) My GameGear’s screen somehow broke and only half the screen would work

3) Batteries?! I HATE THEM! Unless they are quickly rechargable 😛

4) Only good for long trips, and on such trips ^(see 1)^

5) Easily stolen :(

So, I dunno, I may pick one up just to have one 😛 Just ‘cause it’s so sexy.

That Metal Gear game is gonna come out on the ps2 as well right? Hopefully this MGS release has a better story line and MORE content. MGS2 was put to shame by the original :(

Any info on when Sony’s coming out with a new console? Are they coming out with a new console? If so, any rumors on it? Info? Info info info info!!! 😛

BTW, Hector and Andru, great reporting and info :D

From http://www.i4u.com/article1384.html:

Nintendo’s EVP of Sales & Marketing Reggie Fils-Aime announced today that the DS is official for E3. When asked about a 2004 launch, Reggie Fils-Aime hedged a bit and said, “As we’re sitting here, that’s the plan.”

From http://gamesindustry.biz/content_page.php?section_name=ret&aid=3795:

Unconfirmed reports from Japanese retail sources suggest that Nintendo is planning to roll out the DS handheld on November 4th priced at 19,000 Yen (140 Euro), followed by a US launch on November 11th at $179.95 (145 Euro).

The later has a date of July 14th on it, so I’m not sure if that still holds true.
