The much-anticipated fifth movie of the Harry Potter series is finally here, but will fans of the books find the delight they’re expecting in the theatres? Confusing, fast-paced, and very, very different from the printed version, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix isn’t quite up to par with the other films in the series…and fans of the book are going to feel let down. Fans who know only the movies are going to feel confused. The CGI will wow you, the villains are dispelled far too easily, and Draco barely got to speak a word…what is going on with this movie? The summer blockbuster everyone has been waiting for leaves most of its viewers out in the cold of confusion, disappointingly so.

This was easily my favorite book of the series, mind you I just started the last book today, but I didn’t feel let down by the movie version.  There was a lot of material in the book, so I knew some things were going to be left out of the movie.  Overall, I thought they did an excellent job compressing the main story.  I thought the script was spot on.  And the direction quite effective.  As far as special effects, it was perhaps the best of the series to date.

I usually judge how good a movie is based on whether or not I want to watch it again, and this one I could easily watch over and over again.  Definitely worth seeing.
