Another Pirates Flick From Disney

The CGI, big-name actors, and high-action intensity should be enough to sell tickets for Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End - all good news, because a lot of the other elements of the film could be more than enough to turn off movie fans. Depp is a delight, the script is not, and the overkill effects on some of the characters and monsters give the whole film a slightly cheesy feeling that will go over really big with kids…and no so much with older ticketholders. Another giant step away from the success of the first flick, this sequel is an obvious attempt to capitalize on the big success this theme ride-themed movie franchise once produced. It just keeps getting sillier.

It’ll probably be just like the second one. I mean, they were filmed at the same time, they knew the third one was going to come out. I don’t see how it could be any sillier than the second one. Anyway, I liked the second one. Usually I’m not that into multiplex “popcorn” flicks, but I really enjoy the Pirates series.

I saw the movie today, and thought it was a great one. The effects, action, and actors were great. The story wasn’t a mind bender, but it really didn’t need to be. It was a movie about pirates. Thats fun in and of itself. Its a movie that provides a great escape from reality. We all need that every now and then.
