decompressing .rar files

yes.. the 7 zip didnt work.. so i used winRAR it works perfectly! great prog.. i wish it wasnt just a trial.. does anyone know of a prog that is free and is not just a trial?

didnt work? o it works. quite well. 7-zip also has the best compression ratio.

I’m tellin’ ya, use ExtractNow —it’s free, and there’s no trial version thing and does the job

7-zip is opensource and im sure it does what you wanted, just didn’t know how to use it. it is a lil more complex then the others.

i’ve had the “trial” of winrar on my computer for nearly 2 years. it says “after 40 days either buy it or remove it”. There’s no loss in functionality after the “trial”

how long have you had the trial of winrar?
just keep it after the trial, if it stops, it stops… if it doesn’t which i doubt keep using it

and if anything just get a workaround from astalavista

yea, but the popup is annoying as hell, thats why u get a “workaround”  :mischeif:

click cancel on the popup… that simple

yea, but the popup is still really annoying for me, and i use winrar a LOT, so u can see why id be frustrated
