Price Revealed:
May 17, 2005 - According a an article published in the May 17th edition of Japan’s Mainichi Shimbun, the PlayStation 3 could be one of the most expensive mass-market videogame consoles ever created. Officials from Sony apparently told the newspaper that PlayStation 3s would sell in Japan for “less than 50,000 yen each.” That translates to about $465 US dollars.

Daaammmnnn talk about keeping up w/ the Jones’s…All that for a video game, glad I’ll be getting this for free. So, glad im not into video games anymore man, inflation is a PROBLEM.

Doesn’t mean that they’ll be shipping what they showed. As I understand it they completely screwed around the PS2 (read an article about their ‘awesome’ specs for the PS2, which were COMPLETELY false). I’d assume that something similar will ship but very doubtful that it’ll be the same thing.
