i think the issue lies in chip manufacturers. I believe IBM makes the ppc desktop chip, and motorola makes the mobile chip. i heard that motorola has been dragging its feet on development (i.e… making it run cooler). so, we’ll see. Don’t expect it for quite some time, however.

I think this is the mac I’ll buy but does anyone know any real info about it?  I found some spy “pics” but they can’t be true…

Someone give me the facts…

That doesn’t look like a laptop at all…That looks like a portable desktop. I actually woudn’t mind getting one of those. :D

On topic: I don’t know too much about Apples since I have never owned one, but I tried my friends desktop G5 and they seem pretty reliable and fast.

those are all fakes i believe.

people speculate abouta g5 laptop, but a huge problem with the g5 is that it gets hot. real hot. that’s pretty much teh big barrier to having a g5 laptop.

There is currently no Powerbook G5, and I doubt it will be out any time soon.  The G5 is just too hot.  The Powermac’s have 8 fans, and the Dual 2.5ghz one use liquid cooling.

All those pictures are fakes, and the first one is a joke because of the heat issues.

They are getting closer it would seem. They can fit a G5 in a 2 inch thick enclosure now (a-la-imac g5).

My guess is there will be a series of dual core g4 powerbooks announced before we see a G5 book.

I will be in line to get one when they do come out though. My G4 powerbook is the best computer I have ever owned.
