yesterday i ordered a dell 700m laptop with the following specs

dell latitude 700m (wide screen laptop, weighs 4.1lbs)
2.0ghz centrino processor
512mb ddr (2x sticks of 256mb)
60gb
8 cell battery (5 hrs)
Intel? PRO/Wireless 2200 Internal Wireless (802.11 b/g, 54Mbps)
etc

it says it ships monday the 21st, has anyone ever had experience from dell like do you think they will ship sooner? or is the estimated shipping date usually sooner?

i ordered a dell on christmas and they sed a week and it came in 2 days later…..they are lightning fast

a friend of mine (me basically) ordered a dell financed and forgot to pay them (decided not to) for 2 months, they called him (me) and said that you need to pay because “your making millions of dollars off of our equipment”, i was stumped, then i laughed. :D

actually, the two systems are very comparable… it’s just that one is centrino based and one in Athon XP-M based (and the slight HDD difference).

Someone (i forget the web address) did an in-depth comparison of PM vs AMD64 vs P4 vs P4ee… and, in almost half of the tests, the PM 2.0 shadowed the performance of a Athlon 64 4000+... it was really weird.

I guess, you could say… you both got screwed 😛
