i was passing by a laptop and it said windows xp media center edition..
and it said system locked and it had a rectangle box saying this.. a place were it had a user name and a password and i want to find out how to do this and no it wasnt like logging onto a user account it was on a user account and when you moved the mouse it came off of the screensaver and gave me the box.. i want this on my computer but i have windows xp proffesional edition is there a way i can do this

right click desktop> properties>screensaver>check “On resume, password protect”

nope it only has a check box for
On resume, Display Welcome Screen.

Go into Control Panel, then go into your users accounts, then look for a link or something that says “Change the way users log on” or something like that.  Go in there and disable faster user switching.

No problem man! I also have it disabled to show the rectangle log in.  I think it looks better like that IMO.  Also, that’s how I’m used to it because windows 2000 was always like that 8)
