Alistair CarrAlistair Carr is leaving Pringle of Scotland.

The sartorialist - who had previously worked at Balenciaga - was appointed the British label's design director last March following the departure of Clare Waight Keller, but has decided to move on. Pringle of Scotland's future collections will be created by its existing in-house team.

"I want to thank Alistair for all his great efforts and contributions at Pringle. We will miss him, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavors," said the brand's CEO Jean Fang.

Fang described Carr's departure as a "mutual decision," and also said Pringle will show its forthcoming ready-to-wear offerings via presentation rather than on the catwalk. Carr will still art direct the brand's Fall/Winter 2012-13 campaign and will show his Spring/Summer 2013 menswear collection in mid-June.

The designer joined the brand in March 2011, having also worked at Marni, Cacharel and Chloe. He also showed his own label at London Fashion Week for three seasons. His next move is not yet known.

Swinton Looks Hauntingly Beautiful in Pringle of Scotland Campaign

Tilda Swinton with Ryan McGinley and Clare Waight KellerRed-haired androgynous beauty looks “hauntingly” beautiful in her new campaign for Pringle of Scotland.

The Oscar-winning actress - who fronted last season’s advertisements for the label - has been photographed alongside Turner prize winner Douglas Turner in an abandoned oyster bay in Loch Fyne, Scotland, and her unique look shines through. Talking about the campaign shot by photographer Ryan McGinley, Pringle creative director Clare Waight Keller told Vogue.com:

“There were really two moods that I felt strongly about for this campaign. The first was to use the Scottish landscape in quite a surreal way, where Ryan’s spectacular lighting, especially in the night photography, really captured the haunting beauty of Tilda and her surroundings and the uniqueness of Douglas Gordon in a truly stunning combination. The second was a slightly more boyish, ‘bovver boy’ feel, a bit more casual, hanging out at the back of a bike shed.”
