Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls to Host Revamped House of Style

Just like plenty of movies and fashion trends these days, television shows are also constantly being recycled. MTV, for one, has decided that it's time to bring back the nineties fashion-centric House of Style - this time, however, it will be hosted by models Karlie Kloss and Joan Smalls.
MTV announced the news at Thursday night's Video Music Awards, which both models attended to raise awareness of the upcoming program (in addition, of course, to their primary job of just looking stunning on the red carpet) “I can’t believe it," Smalls said. "I’m in shock as well,” Kloss added. “It’s unbelievable and such a huge honor. We have major shoes to fill.”
Cindy Crawford, Amber Valetta, Molly Sims and Rebecca Romijn were a few of the models who hosted the original show back in the day. “Both industries have changed quite a bit. So it’ll be interesting to see how we show that," Kloss said.

Rihanna Cut Hair Short on Spur of Moment
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Hairstyles,
Rihanna decided to cut her hair short on the spur of the moment.
The "Cockiness (Love It)" singer debuted short cropped locks at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) yesterday, and while she had been wanted to snip her hair for some time, had originally planned it for after the awards.
"We had been talking about going short for a little while now and actually planned to do it the following week, but I just felt like, why wait? Let's do it today. And Ri said the same thing. She was ready for her short hair again," Rihanna's long time hairstylist, Ursula Stephan, told Us Weekly.
Rihanna took home the biggest award of the night, Video of the Year, for her collaboration with Calvin Harris, "We Found Love," and on her way back to the seat was stopped by her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, who kissed her on the lips and gave her a hug.
Lauren Conrad to Launch New Designs on MTV
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, Fashion Shows, News,
Lauren Conrad is to launch her new fashion line on her upcoming reality TV show.
The former The Hills actress - who has created collections for Kohl’s in the past - revealed her new high-end range will be debuted on her MTV reality show, but the 24-year-old star has admitted she is ready for the “stress” which will undoubtedly come alongside designing the new line.
“We’re in the very beginning process. We just submitted all of our tech packs for samples, so it’s in the very early stages. It will get stressful after this, when you’re dealing with deadlines, and you’re dealing with production and the possibility of a fashion show. That’s kind of when all the stress comes in. So, right now we’re just picking colours and doing samples.”
Lauren - who began her fashion career working as an intern for Teen Vogue in Los Angeles - also revealed she has enlisted the help of her friends to create the collection, which consists of a whole host of wardrobe “basics.”
“We haven’t started filming yet, so stay tuned! But my roommate and one of my best friends are running the company, the business end, and another one of my good friends, Gary, is doing kind of the creative direction. I do a lot of basics, so we have a great blazer, a high-waisted black skirt and biker jacket, and all those pieces can be traded throughout. It’s a lot of layering, a lot of switching-up, so you can get more mileage.”
Lady Gaga Meat Dress to Be Preserved
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, Fashion Designers, News,

So what is to become of Lady Gaga‘s infamous VMA meat dress? Beef jerky, of course! Unfortunately for die-hard monsters, it’s not jerky one can eat…
“The dress will go through a process where it becomes a sort of ‘jerky.’ The meat dries out, rather than rotting. But it shouldn’t be worn again,” said the designer of the dress, Franc Fernandez.
Additionally, it would appear as if the dress was the first and the last made of the animal parts: “There’s not going to be meat dresses in the future. This was made for a specific purpose. It’s what it is.”

MTV Dubs Ashley Greene as Fashion Correspondent
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Celebrities, News, Men, Women,

The upcoming MTV Video Music Awards means serious fashion commentary. So serious that MTV hired Twilight gal Ashley Greene to be the ceremony’s fashion corresepondent.
Due to Kristen Stewart‘s lack of availability (understood), the position fell into Greene’s lap.
Let’s just hope this isn’t as big of a mistake as Emanuel Ungaro’s hiring Lindsay Lohan. Tune into the awards this Sunday night.
