Jennifer Lopez Shoots Gucci Campaign With Her Kids

Jennifer Lopez is set to star in a new Gucci campaign alongside her two-year-old twins. The singer-and-actress and little Max and Emme will be the faces of the Italian fashion house's new children's fashion line, with the campaign being shot in July by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
According to WWD, the images feature a sun-kissed Jennifer and her children wearing Gucci clothes and accessories, including sunglasses, while playing on the beach. As part of the campaign, Gucci will make charitable donations to UNICEF and the Maribel Foundation, a charity founded by Jennifer and her sister, Lynda. Jennifer had previously said she is keen to keep her family life private as much as possible because she knows too much attention could have a bad effect.
"We're not ones to parade the kids around. Marc is really adamant about that. He's really protective. We don't want them getting used to that life. It's a weird existence. I used to be of the attitude, many years ago, that I would just live my life and not care. But at the same time, you shouldn't just throw caution to the wind, because there are consequences to that lifestyle."

Suri Cruise Designs Her Own Clothes

Four year-old Suri Cruise designs her own clothes.
The daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, Holmes claims that Suri chooses her own designs and has done so since she was just 18 months.
“I grew up the youngest of five, so there were a lot of hand-me-downs that I would sort of change up. And Suri and I do that now with her clothes. Or rather, she does it. She says, ‘I want this sleeve cut,’ and it’s like, ‘Okay, we’ll cut it.’ She picks out all of her own clothes and has since she was one-and-a-half.”
Katie, 31, also claims to have had a hand in making clothes for her, but has to get someone else to sew them as she doesn’t have the necessary skills: “I started making clothes for Suri when she was born, designing dresses, and then having seamstresses sew them, because I don’t sew very well. As a child, I was always drawing clothes, and I’ve always loved fabrics, and when Suri was born, I wanted to have certain things be from me and created just by me for her.”

Gucci Announces Children Range

Move over, Gap Kids—Gucci is set to launch a children’s wear line.
The Italian fashion house’s creative director, Frida Giannini, wants to branch out into kids clothes with a range available starting in June. The first line will be unveiled in Italy and then hit around 40 stores worldwide. Frida is currently in Singapore - where she announced her future plans - and was honored to have an orchid named after her, the Paravanda Frida.
“It was very touching and I loved the thought that the orchid will still be there a few hundred years from now. I have never experienced such an honor before.”
The orchid, a white flower with fuchsia tips, was also the inspiration for 88 limited edition Boston bags which Frida exclusively designed for Singapore to benefit children’s charity Mainly I Love Kids (MILK). The white-and-pink Paravanda Frida bags sold out within a month of their launch in February, which left Frida stunned. Speaking at the opening of the revamped Gucci flagship at the Paragon mall on Orchard Road, Frida told WWD, “I always feel surprised in a very positive way at how customers really relate to the brand.”
Katie Holmes and Suri Wear Matching Dresses

Judging by a photo taken of Katie Holmes and her daughter Suri, the actress-turned-designer wasn’t kidding about that children’s collection; I was hoping she would at least spare the kids.
In the picture, Holmes and her mature daughter stepped out in matching red dresses from her range, Holmes & Yang.
I’m still in shock that Maxfield actually chose these designs over Victoria Beckham’s creations. Holmes could at least try to make her outfit look good (Suri, on the other hand, looks adorable)—is her stylist too busy sewing more ugly products?

Stella McCartney Took Tips From Son For Gap Collection
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Fashion Designers, News, Rumors, Sales, Boys, Girls,
Apparently, muses tend to run in the family around the fashion industry. Take, for instance, Matthew Williamson and his inspirational mother.
For vegetarian designer Stella McCartney, it’s her four year-old son Miller!
“My eldest son is just starting to have a mind of his own. I was going to do pirates and he said: ‘Nah, don’t do pirates.’ It suddenly dawned on me that this wasn’t just about what parents want to put on their kids, but about what kids will choose themselves. I needed to make every piece [of clothing] one that my children wanted to wear.”
Who knows—perhaps we’ll be seeing Miller creating ranges in the future. Those McCartneys are an imaginative group, after all.
The 70-piece collection, which is priced from $14 to $128, hits select Gap stores on November 2nd.

Avril Lavigne Introducing Kids Clothing LIne
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Fashion Designers, Girls, Bottoms, Tops,
While I doubt most people have been keeping up with Avril Lavigne or really given a second thought about her clothing choices, the Canadian pop star is forging ahead with her “fashion” career.
One year after launching Abbey Dawn, an apparel line for juniors, in Kohl’s department stores, the “Girlfriend” singer is close to introducing a collection for an even younger set. The selections, which will be available in about two weeks, will include layered tees, leggings and kid-friendly skulls.
Fashion design isn’t the only thing Lavigne is experimenting with these days. Black Star, a new fragrance she helped create, is due out sometime this summer.
