Anna Wintour thinks that Kim Kardashian has "real guts."

The Vogue editor, who previously had a frosty relationship with the reality TV star despite being close friends with her fiancee Kanye West, claims she decided to put the Keeping Up with the Kardashians beauty on the cover of the magazine's April edition because she admires Kim's "strength of character."

In her editor's letter for Vogue's Shape issue, the cover of which features the "New Slaves" hitmaker with his arms around Kim, who is wearing a strapless Lanvin wedding dress, the fashion icon, 64, writes, "There's barely a strand of the modern media that the Kardashian Wests haven't been able to master, and for good reason. Kanye is an amazing performer and cultural provocateur, while Kim, through her strength of character, has created a place for herself in the glare of the world's spotlight, and it takes real guts to do that."

Kanye West Angry That Kim Didn’t Score ‘Vogue’ Cover

Kanye West has allegedly confronted Anna Wintour after his fiancee Kim Kardashian was overlooked for the cover of Vogue magazine.

The 36-year-old rapper is reportedly "insulted" that the fashion editor, who he deems a close friend of his, picked filmmaker Lena Dunham over his beau for the cover of February's edition.

A source told RadarOnline that Kanye - who met with Anna at the Beverly Hills Polo Lounge - argued that Kim is "just as talented as Lena, if not more so." The source added, "To Kanye it's insulting that his friend Anna is still refusing to even consider putting Kim on the cover of Vogue. He thinks Anna is listening to a bunch of 'know-nothing' corporate haters, as he put it. He's upset that Anna isn't willing to do him this personal favor and put Kim on the cover. Kanye knows that it's always been a huge dream of Kim's to be on the Vogue cover and Kanye wants to make it come true. If nothing else, Kanye is persistent."

Kate Hudson “Can’t Afford” Designer Clothes

Kate Hudson claims she "can't afford" designer clothes.

The Bride Wars actress - who has nine-year-old son Ryder with ex-husband Chris Robinson, and two-year-old son Bingham with fiance Matt Bellamy - insists she has to borrow the high-end gowns she wears for the red carpet because they are too pricey for her budget.

"People think we own all these dresses. But we borrow them! I can't afford to buy that stuff. There are certain things I splurge on, but it's very rare, especially when you have two kids and school tuition. I'm not a big high-end fashion shopper. I wish I could but the truth is things are just so expensive. Before Isabel Marant was a million dollars and famous, I used to go to her store in Paris and go crazy, it was so affordable," she told Harper's Bazaar.

The 34-year-old beauty - who is worth a reported $38 million - credits her mother, Goldie Hawn, with her frugal ways: "My mom wasn't a big shopper for us. I think they wanted to instill that in us even though we grew up in a really privileged and lucky lifestyle."

Upon the unveiling of Melissa McCarthy's ELLE cover - of which she shares newsstands with other covers featuring Reese Witherspoon and Penelope Cruz for the magazine's Women in Hollywood theme - fans were appalled to see the funny woman covered up in a coat. While thinner stars are styled in much less clothing, it seemed unfair to cover up a woman of a bigger size like McCarthy.

With that said, McCarthy broke her silence on the issue and revealed that sporting the coat was her choice after all: "What I found so bizarre is I picked the coat. I grabbed the coat. I covered up. I had a great black dress on but I thought, it comes out in November... I was so sick of summer. I live in Southern California. I was like, 'Give me a big coat to wear. Give the girl some cashmere!' I picked the coat. They were like, 'The dress is really great,' but I was like, 'Yeah, but look at this.'"

Miley Cyrus Loses Vogue Cover After VMA Performance

Miley Cyrus' controversial performance at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) has lost her the chance to appear on the cover of Vogue magazine.

The 20-year-old singer's duet with Robin Thicke featured Miley twerking and gyrating up against the R&B singer and using a foam finger in a sexually suggestive way at the ceremony in New York City last month made headlines across the world. One person watching watching who didn't enjoy it was Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour, who has decided to drop shots of Miley intended for the cover of the December issue of the fashion bible because of her "distasteful" performance.

"Anna found the whole thing distasteful. She decided, based on Miley's performance, to take the cover in a different direction," a source said.

Miley was seen on stage in a flesh-coloured, latex bikini, wagging her tongue and making sexual facial expressions while she danced up against Robin as they performed his hit "Blurred Lines."

+ Despite her doctor's orders to avoid tight-fitting shoes, a very pregnant Kim Kardashian was spotted desperately trying to squeeze into her Givenchy heels.

+ Harper's Bazaar features supermodel Christy Turlington on next month's cover, which notes that she's still fabulous at 44 - as if we still didn't need reminding since she turned 40.

Nicki Minaj: I’m a Regular Woman

Nicki Minaj wants to look more "relatable." The "Starships" hitmaker is known for her colorful wig collection and eccentric outfits, but she has begun to tone down her appearance because she wants to be viewed as a "regular woman."

"Towards the end of last year I just wanted to have a more natural look, and that's what I was explaining to my team. I knew that I was about to start doing covers of magazines and I wanted a more relatable look. I knew that I was about to launch a clothing line and I want women to know that I'm just a regular woman and I'm not some weirded-out character all the time."

And after seeing the results of her make-under, Nicki, 30, couldn't be happier, and admits she has fallen in love with her new appearance. The American Idol judge added, "I made that conscious effort to tone it down and to try new things. And when I started seeing what my hair looked like, I just fell in love. I was just like, 'Oh my gosh where has this been all my life?' Because even my fans went crazy, I feel like the whole world went crazy. It felt like I took off this mask - it didn't feel like that to me - but to the world it's almost like, 'Oh now we see the real her.' It was weird."

Nicki Minaj Ditches Pink Lipstick for ‘Elle’

American Idol's new judge Nicki Minaj has undergone an unusual makeover for her Elle cover.

While most stars get done-up for their magazine cover transformations, the stylists at Elle convinced the rapper to ditch her colorful outfits and theatre makeup for a more natural look.

The star even admitted to the fashion glossy how difficult it was for her to avoid her usual makeup routine: "When I saw myself with barely any makeup at, it was such a... like, I'm so, so attached to my pink lipstick, it's hard. I feel that it's become a part of me. To go in front of the camera, without pink lips or big ol' crazy lashes - you know, nothing - I felt naked. It was scary! So this photo shoot was a real accomplishment in my eyes."

Kanye West Wants Kim Kardashian in Vogue

Kanye West is desperate for Anna Wintour to like Kim Kardashian. The "Mercy" rapper - who is expecting his first child with the 32-year-old reality TV star in early July - is trying to convince the fashion editor to put the brunette beauty on the US cover of Vogue.

A source told Star magazine that while Anna thinks that Kanye, 35, is "terrific," she thinks his girlfriend of almost one year is "the worst thing since socks and sandals." The insider also claimed that the style icon said Kim would appear in the esteemed fashion magazine "over her dead body."

Anna allegedly ignored Kim at New York Fashion Week last September and the insider claims the only way Kim has a chance of appearing in the American version of the magazine is in a feature introducing her newborn baby to the world.

Kim and Anna's feud has been well documented in the past. The Keeping Up With The Kardashians' star was banned from attending the star-studded Met Gala in New York last year with Kanye because Anna believed she "didn't fit the bill."
