University of Wisconsin at StoutThose who can’t do teach. These who can’t teach, teach gym.

But those who draw comics can teach comics.

If you’re one of those interested in making a leap into full-time employment, then there’s a school looking for you. The University of Wisconsin at Stout is looking for Multimedia Design Assistant Professor - Comics and Sequential Art.

It’s a “Full-time, Tenure-Track, Entry-Level Teaching Position” in the School of Art and Design.

It starts in August 2012, but the application process ends in February, so get cracking.

Here’s the course listing:

“Comics and Sequential Artist with a primary focus on narrative/story based digitally produced comics and graphic novels. Secondary focus on motion comics, 2D animation, storyboarding, character illustration, concept art, digital painting and drawing.”

That sounds like a blast for anyone with the chops and the personality to get the job done.

You’ll be expected to “teach three studio courses each semester which may include beginning, intermediate and advanced Entertainment Design classes (Comics and Sequential Art Studio, Intro to Digital Narrative, Animation Studio, 2D Digital Imaging, Drawing) and foundation classes that support art education, game design/development, graphic design, industrial design, interior design, multimedia design, and studio art.”

The university is located in Menomonie, which is in western Wisconsin, “60 minutes east of Minneapolis-St. Paul on Interstate 94.”

Good luck, job seekers!
