Zooey Deschanel Slams Skinny Actresses

Zooey Deschanel thinks that Hollywood stars are too thin. The New Girl actress isn't a fan of the recent trend of stick thin actresses and thinks many of her contemporaries look "much, much too skinny."
In an interview for the February 2013 issue of Glamour, she said, "Actresses have definitely gotten thinner over the course of my lifetime. Women I admired growing up - Debra Winger, Diane Keaton, Meryl Streep--were all beautiful and thin, but not too thin. There are a lot of actresses who are unhealthy-skinny - much, much too skinny. You can't Pilates to that. I'm a very small person, and if I lost 15 pounds, I'd look like them; it's scary. For young girls, what does that say? You need to look this way to be successful? That's not true. You do not need to look or be anorexic to be successful in Hollywood. The range of what's acceptable is larger than what people believe."
Zooey also revealed her parents and grandparents are her relationship idols:

Zooey Deschanel is Dating Jamie Linden

The pair were first linked together in June after they appeared "inseparable, holding hands and hooking their arms together" at a Magic Mike after-party.
"Jamie's a really nice guy. He's funny, and a little geeky ... he's into her!" a source added.
Zooey announced her marriage to Death Cab for Cutie singer Ben Gibbard had ended "mutually" and "amicably" in December and claimed there was no one was involved with the split.
The 32-year-old beauty recently admitted she likes intelligent men who make her laugh. "I think intelligence and humor are probably the most attractive traits in a guy," she said. However, she has also said she doesn't feel ready to date, saying, "Honestly, I'm just going through a divorce, so I don't really think [dating] is something I want to get into now. I don't have time to date. I literally don't have time."

The New Girl actress - who split from husband Ben Gibbard earlier this year after two years of marriage - is currently single but looking for someone who is able to sustain a conversation while also showing a good sense of humor.
"I think intelligence and humor are probably the most attractive traits in a guy," she said.
The 32-year-old beauty admits her work schedule means she can't see her pals as often as she would like but she insists she is still a good friend: "I still have time for friends but it's not like I see them every day. Unfortunately, it's never the same as when you're at school and you get to eat lunch every day with your friends. But if I didn't have time for my friends that would be terrible. The one thing I can't always give a friend is time, but I can be thoughtful in other ways instead."

Zooey Deschanel: Babies Are Not My Ambition

Zooey Deschanel admits it is not her "ambition"' to have children.
The New Girl star - whose big sister and Bones actress Emily welcomed baby Henry with husband David Hornsby in September - says that while she loves her nephew, she has no plans to start a family of her own.
"That's never been my focus. My sister was always very motherly, babysitting and stuff. I like kids, and I like being around kids, but it was never an ambition - something, like, I need. I like working. That's what I like doing. I like to work."
Having split with Death Cab for Cutie front man Ben Gibbard in November after just two years of marriage, Zooey also insists dating is off her agenda for now: "Honestly, I'm just going through a divorce, so I don't really think [dating] is something I want to get into now. I don't have time to date. I literally don't have time."
Emily Deschanel Gives Birth to Baby Boy

Bones actress Emily Deschanel gave birth to her first child, a son, last Wednesday; she and her It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia husband David Hornsby named their newborn Henry Hornsby.
The longtime animal rights activist maintained her vegan diet throughout her pregnancy.
Deschanel's family and friends took to Twitter to express their congrats. Sister Zooey Deschanel looks forward to her aunt duties: "I am super excited to be an aunt!" Bones co-star TJ Thyne couldn't quite contain his excitement: "CONGRATULATIONS EMILY D!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Yet another beautiful Hollywood starlet ties the knot!
Zooey Deschanel, who starred in this summer’s romantic comedy (500) Days of Summer, married Death Cab For Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard in Seattle sometime Saturday night.
Before their engagement in December of last year, the couple had been dating for nearly a year.
“Zooey was swept off her feet, and Ben is so excited,” a source revealed.
Congratulations to the both of them! Clearly the summer of 2009 is the year to get married if you’re an actress these days…
