Elin Nordegren Speaks Out for First - and Last - Time
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Sports, Divorce,
Two days after her divorce was finalized, we’re finally learning – from Elin Nordegren directly – what happened toward the end of her marriage to Tiger Woods.
During an exclusive interview with People magazine, the 30-year-old mother of two set out to address several topics – including the rumors surrounding Tiger’s car accident and her knowledge of his affairs.
Although numerous women have linked themselves publicly with the golfer, his now ex-wife says she never had a clue. “I’m so embarrassed that I never suspected — not a one,” Elin admits. “For the past 3½ years, when all this was going on, I was home a lot more with pregnancies, then the children and my school.”
And while it would be understandable for her to fly into a rage upon making that discovery, Nordegren claims she never hit her husband on that Thanksgiving night last year. “There was never any violence inside or outside our home,” she insists. “The speculation that I would have used a golf club to hit him is just truly ridiculous.”

Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren Officially Divorced
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Sports, Divorce, Legal Issues,

Nearly six months after his public apology to his wife, Tiger Woods’ marriage to Elin Nordegren is officially over.
Both parties appeared briefly in a Florida courtroom today to finalize their agreement.
The divorce came nearly 9 months after Tiger Woods hit both a tree and a hydrant outside of the family home in Florida. That incident lead to a string of reports about the golf star’s infidelities.
No financial details about the split have been made public, but the two will reportedly “share custody” of their two children - daughter Sam, 3, and son Charlie, 19 months – according to a statement on Woods’ website.

VIDEO: Tiger Woods First One-on-One Interviews

Operation “Repair Tiger’s Image” just entered its next phase.
Nearly a month after addressing the public for the very first time, Tiger Woods granted his first one-on-one interviews. Tonight, both ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi and the Golf Channel’s Kelly Tilghman aired their exclusive chats with the embattled golfer.
During both interviews, Woods, who intends to make his comeback during next month’s Masters golf tournament, made references to his 45-day stint in rehab. Although he declined to specify what he was receiving treatment for, he did say that he was forced to take a “brutal” look at himself. Asked why he never sought help earlier, Woods stated: “Well, I didn’t know I was that bad. I didn’t know that I was that bad.” (Uh, how many women do you have to sleep with before it’s considered “bad”?)

BREAKING NEWS: Tiger Woods Takes Indefinite Hiatus from Golf
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Sports, Rumors,

I guess the paparazzi can stop staking out the golf courses.
In a statement just posted on his website, Tiger Woods says he’s going to be taking an indefinite leave of absence from his sport:
I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I’ve done, but I want to do my best to try.
I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What’s most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.
After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.
Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period.
