American Idol’s Chikezie Eze Arrested for Identity Theft

UPDATE: Chikezie has been charged with attempted grand theft and misdemeanor identity theft.
Chikezie Eze isn’t smelling so good after being arrested last night in Beverly Hills.
The 10th place finisher from American Idol 7 was attempting to purchase bottles of cologne at Neiman Marcus when his credit card was flagged. Although Eze claims he doesn’t know why the previously unused card warranted a police response, something reportedly “untrue” on the application lead to him being booked for felony identity theft.
Chikezie - who has since been released on $50,000 bail - feels certain that the matter will get cleared up. “I haven’t done anything wrong myself and I’m pretty confident nothing is going to happen,” he told TMZ.

For several weeks, the teen and tween girls all over America carried on a TV love affair with baby-faced David Archuleta. The American Idol crooner swept in and stole hearts using nothing more than an “Aw, shucks” modesty and sweet smile.
Oh, yeah…and he’s got an exceptional singing voice. The women who adore him have to wait no more: David Archuleta, American Idol runner-up, has finally turned eighteen.
He can vote, he can do movies and TV without parental or guardian supervision…and he can legally marry or date anyone he pleases. The soft-spoken singer has been appearing on television a lot recently, cropping up for Christmas specials and other events. There is no doubt in my mind that he’ll also make an appearance on American Idol’s upcoming Season 8. His overwhelming popularity last year and newfound independence all but guarantee another performance on the big stage.
