Reese Witherspoon Holds Hands with New Man

I know if I were a better person, this picture would make me smile. But seeing a happy Reese Witherspoon hold hands with a new man is breaking my heart—and probably Jake Gyllenhaal’s as well.

Witherspoon, who officially split from Gyllenhaal late last year, has been romantically linked to CAA agent Jim Toth for a little while now. But up until this weekend, the two had not been snapped publicly displaying their affection. This meant hopeless romantics like me could still pray for a Reese and Jake reunion. Unfortunately, that dream has now been crushed.

Could this 39-year-old really be Ava and Deacon’s future stepdad? Or will he just make Reese regret what she let slip away? I’m not ready to give up quite yet.
