Elijah Wood has an obsession with the number 9Elijah Wood is obsessed with the number nine.

The 28-year-old actor, who lends his voice to a character in the new Tim Burton-produced sci-fi movie 9, believes that his lucky number is responsible for all the success he has enjoyed in his career.

“It’s following me around. It is so funny, too, because I didn’t even make that connection when I signed on to this movie. I don’t know what it is, but there is clearly something about me and that number.”

Elijah’s infatuation with the digit began when he was cast in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. In the movies, Elijah’s character Frodo Baggins is one of nine members of the fellowship of the ring. Elijah even has the numeral 9 tattooed on his arm in Elvish—the mythical language spoken in the big screen adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien’s books.
