Jennifer Aniston Cried for Angelina
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Rivalries, Rumors,
Jennifer Aniston reportedly cried when she read about Angelina Jolie's double mastectomy.
The Horrible Bosses star - who split from Brad Pitt in January 2005, shortly before he started dating Angelina, his current fiancee - was deeply upset when she read how the actress had both breasts removed after finding out she had an 87 per cent chance of developing breast cancer.
"She was moved beyond belief reading Angelina's story. It really took her by surprise how brave she is. To go through such a major thing for all her family has made Jen realize that regardless of how they hooked up, Angelina does really love Brad and [their six] kids. Sure, Jen got hurt when Brad left her and the pain dragged on for years, but she's so over it now, and wants to extend an olive branch to Angelina," a source told National Enquirer.
Jennifer, 44, has long been a campaigner for breast cancer awareness and has friends who have been affected by it, including singer Sheryl Crow, who had a lumpectomy in 2006, and Christina Applegate - who played the sister of her character Rachel in Friends - who had both her breasts removed as a preventative measure.

Angelina Jolie Has Double Mastectomy
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Movies, Features,
Angelina Jolie has undergone a double mastectomy.
The 37-year-old actress - whose mother Marcheline Bertrand died in 2007 after battling ovarian cancer - took the decision to have both of her breasts removed despite being healthy, as she has been found to have the BRCA1 cancer gene, giving her an 87 per cent chance of developing breast cancer and 50 per cent risk of ovarian cancer.
Writing in the New York Times, Angelina said, "My doctors estimated that I had an 87 percent risk of breast cancer and a 50 percent risk of ovarian cancer, although the risk is different in the case of each woman. Only a fraction of breast cancers result from an inherited gene mutation. Those with a defect in BRCA1 have a 65 percent risk of getting it, on average. Once I knew that this was my reality, I decided to be proactive and to minimize the risk as much I could. I made a decision to have a preventive double mastectomy. I started with the breasts, as my risk of breast cancer is higher than my risk of ovarian cancer, and the surgery is more complex. On April 27, I finished the three months of medical procedures that the mastectomies involved. During that time I have been able to keep this private and to carry on with my work."

Christina Applegate Opens Up About Her Double Mastectomy
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Television,

Although it was only revealed a few weeks ago that Christina Applegate had been diagnosed with breast cancer, the actress now admits that she found out back in April.
In an exclusive interview on Good Morning America, the Samantha Who? star told Robin Roberts (also a breast cancer survivor) that her vigilance really paid off in in the end.
Because of her mother’s history with the same disease, Applegate knew it was important for her to begin mammograms at an early age. The 36-year-old had been receiving regular testing for approximately 6 years. Thanks to two MRIs conducted after a biopsy last year, the discovery was made.

Breast Cancer Diagnosis for Christina Applegate
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Television, Breaking News,
Saying the past few weeks have been difficult for Christina Applegate would be putting things mildly.
In early June, an ex-boyfriend of the Samantha Who? star was found dead after an apparent drug overdose. Now we’re learning that the actress has just been diagnosed with breast cancer. Coincidentally (?), Applegate was recently announced as a participant of next month’s Stand Up 2 Cancer telethon.
Today, the 36-year-old’s rep confirmed the medical report to the media:
“Christina Applegate was diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Benefiting from early detection through a doctor-ordered MRI, the cancer is not life threatening. Christina is following the recommended treatment of her doctors and will have a full recovery. No further statement will be issued at this time.”
No announcement has been made so far as to how this may affect production on Applegate’s ABC comedy. Samantha is currently scheduled to return on October 6.

Cynthia Nixon Reveals She Had Breast Cancer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Television, Videos,
On Sex and the City, it was Kim Cattrall’s character (Samantha) who found out she had breast cancer in the show’s later years. In real life, Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) was the one who discovered she had the disease just two years ago.
During an interview on Good Morning America, the 42-year-old actress admits she really wasn’t shocked by the diagnosis. Her mother had been a breast cancer survivor.
Nixon, now fully recovered, has now chosen to speak out about her experience in hopes of helping others. She is also currently the official spokesperson of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Foundation.
You can see a portion of that conversation after the jump.

Kylie Minogue Talks About Misdiagnosed Cancer
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Music, Television,
On yesterday’s episode of Ellen, singer Kylie Minogue opened up about something she had never spoken about before. Although her battle with breast cancer was quite public, her original misdiagnosis wasn’t.
As it was, the performer went in for a check-up right before the start of her 2005 concert tour only to be told that “everything was fine.” Three years later, she is currently in remission.
“Because someone’s in a big white coat and using big medical instruments, doesn’t necessarily mean they’re right.”
Well, Kylie—let us just say that you are looking absolutely fabulous today. We wish the best of luck to you.

Should Kylie Minogue Take Olivier Back?
Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Movies, Music, Break-ups, Rumors,
Let me describe a scenario to you:
You meet a guy, fall in love. Two years go by and you’re diagnosed with breast cancer. He helps you through that. Two years later, you break up because he has reportedly cheated on you. Then another year passes before he drunk dials and says he was a silly fool.
If you were that woman—would you take him back??? Well, as difficult as it would be for some people to understand, Kylie Minogue has apparently done just that.
Despite calling it quits last February, it seems Minogue has given her former flame, Olivier Martinez, another chance. The two had been together for a total of four years. Although the couple denied any disloyalty, the actor (Unfaithful) was reportedly seen with other ladies shortly before their relationship’s demise.
According to the UK’s Daily Mail, their reunion comes with a set of restrictions. The singer, 39, will only take Martinez, 42, back if marriage and a baby are in their future. I’d like to think a man who can tough out a breast cancer diagnosis can handle other large commitments, but I unfortunately have my doubts.
Regardless, I really do hope Minogue has brighter future…with or without him.
UPDATE: Kylie has since denied taking Olivier back. She insists they are only friends.
