In what is truly one of the strangest publicity stunts I’ve seen, actress re-created a famous movie scene once acted out by a screen legend. Taking a stroll down the streets of New York City on her thirtieth birthday, Hewitt wore a long black gown, diamond gems and big black sunglasses.

But…why?

Under normal circumstances, the get-up might look like bizarre breakfast attire, but Jennifer Love Hewitt was actually copying the opening sequence from a famous flick. In the film, Holly Go lightly (Hepburn) is just walking home from an evening soiree. Bagel and coffee in hand, she stops for a little window shopping at her personal mecca, Tiffany’s in New York. So goes the beginning of Breakfast at Tiffany’s, a truly fabulous film based upon the Truman Capote book of the same name.

Jennifer Love Hewitt played the legendary actress in the 2000 TV movie The Audrey Hepburn Story, and why waste a good costume? Matter of fact, Hewitt’s actions could be anything but a stunt or a weird birthday celebration - I think she’s just doing a sort of celebrity costume recycling. There is a recession on, after all.
