Graeme Taylor, a student at a Michigan high school (and an incredibly brave kid), recently made a speech during a school board meeting regarding his teacher Jay McDowell. Dowell was suspended when he disciplined a student who made anti-gay remarks during his class.

In his speech, Taylor refers to a “silent Holocaust” of gay people. He claims there are an “estimated 6 million” homosexuals who commit suicide every year because of the hostile environment toward gay people. (The number is wildly inflated.)

Public awareness to the plight of homosexuals has been experiencing an awakening lately, as many celebrities have stepped forward to make “It Gets Better” messages aimed at gay teens.
