In this episode we review the Crayola ColorStudio HD. The ColorStudio HD is a battery-powered Crayola stylus that you use alongside the ColorStudio HD iPad app. The device works with the app, making the iPad into an animated coloring book. As you see in the video, once you get the battery into the ColorStudio HD stylus and turn off Finger mode in the app, it's easy to choose the type of coloring utensil you want to use. You get music, sound effects, and animation on the pages
You can get the ColorStudio HD, which we've fetured in our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide, for $29.99 on Amazon.

Showyou is a video sharing network for the iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch. After using it for just a few minutes, we immediately wanted to review it and give you a look at how it works. After you download Showyou, you connect it to your Facebook, Twitter, and/or VodPod networks. It will then pull in any videos that your friends on those networks link to or share. You can comment and share videos directly in the Showyou app. Even better, it support AirPlay, so if you have an Apple TV, you can pull up Showyou and go through all the videos your friends have shared, watching them on your television.

Bleeding Edge TV 359: Bartleby’s Book of Buttons Vol. 1
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Gizmatic, Apple, Features, Handhelds, Podcasts, Software, Videocasts, Videos,
We visit the Monster Costume offices to get a look at their awesome new iPad app, Bartleby’s Book of Buttons Vol. 1: The Far Away Land. Aimed at children and parents, Bartleby is a new take on what a book can be when you have the power of the iPad and its multitouch screen at your disposal. Rather than focusing on pages, the book focuses on interaction with the story, character, and elements.
We also chat about the potential future of interactive books in general, and where Monster Costume sees that they can take their publishing platform in the future.

Bleeding Edge TV 357: Sonos Controller for iPad at GDGT Seattle event

The crew from GDGT rolled into town a couple of days ago, and our pals from Sonos were there to show off their upcoming Sonos Controller for iPad remote control app. We talk with Sonos rep Thomas Meyer about what makes their iPad app special and unique, and show the differences between it and the smaller Sonos Controller for iPhone. We definitely can’t wait to see this one hit the App Store, which they say will happen before the end of the year.
To use the Sonos Controller for iPad, you’ll need at least one Sonos zone. We love the product, and if you wanna get started enjoying the world of Sonos, might we recommend the Sonos S5?

Bleeding Edge TV 349: Square credit card reader fails to impress

Ever since we heard the news of Square and how they were aiming to change the face of credit card processing and transactions, we’d been excited to try it out. Square wants to give everyone the ability to accept credit cards as payment, making it simple to do with your mobile smartphone device. We had a few friends over to watch UFC 114, and since we all decided we would split the cost of the event, it seemed like as good a time as any to bust out the Square card reader and give it a try for the first time. We captured it all on video, and as you will see, using the Square reader and app was anything but simple. We are gonna chalk this one up to being a defective unit, although multiple customer service requests to Square have gone unanswered. We will let you know what happens if we ever get a replacement card reader dongle. In the meantime, enjoy the mayhem!
