Bleeding Edge TV 579: HP EliteBook Folio G1 hands-on

The HP EliteBook Folio G1 is a slim ultrabook laptop that aims to take on the Apple MacBook with an optional 4K display and dual USB-C ports. I chat with HP about the new EliteBook Folio G1 in this interview to get the details on what went into making this device special.
As you'll see, aside from the 4K UHD panel and the two USB-C ports (one of which supports Thunderbolt 3,) you also get premium Bang & Olufsen speakers, and a 12.4mm thin body with the 12-inch display. The hinge also goes to a full 180 degrees, and it's all powered by second-generation Intel Core M processors.

I got a look at the HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 OLED notebook during the Showstoppers event at CES 2016, and it was one of the most surprising laptops I got my hands on during the show. As you'll see in the video, HP put a lot of effort into developing a PC that is both gorgeous and multifunctional. The end result is a 2-in-1 notebook that can be used in a variety of orientations (standard laptop, tent mode, tablet mode, and reverse mode,) with Bang & Olufsen sound, and a gorgeous OLED touchscreen display.
I chat with Mike Nash, Head of Customer Experience at HP, about the Spectre x360 line, including the model that sports that fantastic OLED display and incredible ash gray finish, in this episode.

The HP Vivienne Tam edition digital clutch netbook, designed for fashion-concious women on the go, is definitely an eye-catching piece of tech. However, the HP Mini 1000 netbook is pretty much the exact same computer, minus the fancy peony flowers and striking red finish. We give you a look at both netbooks in this episode, showing you all the key differences, so you can decide on which you want to pick up. We’re talking about the MacBook Air and the Voodoo Envy 133. We were able to get our hands on both notebooks, and figured we’d put them side-by-side, just so that we could give you a look at the two thinnest portable computers in the world, and allow you to judge for yourself. HP just unleashed a couple of new notebooks earlier today, including their new 16- and 18-inch HDX units, just in time for the holiday season. We were able to spend some time with HP’s Kevin Wentzel to get a look at the entire consumer notebook lineup for this holiday season. It features the aforementioned HDX, a new HP Imprint finish for the dv5 and dv7 Pavilions, and their tablet as well. These things are affordable, and some are even powerful enough to replace your desktop at this point. In fact, we also have a look at HP’s notebook docking station as well, which fits right in with that line of thinking.
