Bleeding Edge TV 360: V-Moda Crossfade LP over-ear headphones

At the Seattle GDGT event, we stopped to chat with Niko Golfar from V-Moda to get the scoop on the first pair of over-ear headphones that the company has ever put out. Obviously looking to compete with the likes of Monster Cable and their line, the Crossfade LP headphones have a few nice features in the durability department that definitely set these apart, what with the memory metal construction and all that. The V-Moda Crossfade LP sells for $249, and are available now from Amazon.

Bleeding Edge TV 348: Monster DiddyBeats in-ear headphones

Monster announced the DiddyBeats back at CES 2010, and the in-ear fashion headphones have finally started shipping just recently. We were able to get our hands on the DiddyBeats, which as you can see in this episode, are made to invoke a feeling of high fashion. We got the black pair, which is accented with chrome and black leather, definitely a unique look for a pair of earbuds, but really, what would you expect from the Beats by Dr. Dre line and Diddy himself? Get an up-close look at the DiddyBeats in this episode.

Bleeding Edge TV 300: White Ron Herman Beats by Dr. Dre headphones

Remember those limited edition white Beats by Dr. Dre Studio headphones we told you about? Well, we got a pair in our studios and decided to do up a video showing them off. In this episode, we compare the white Ron Herman Beats by Dr. Dre to the standard glossy black Beats, and give you a close-up look at all the major and subtle differences between the two. Of course, the internals are exactly the same, so these $700 white Beats are all about style and high fashion. But hey, they are definitely fun to look at.

Hat tip goes to , who Monster tells me worked really hard on developing a custom finish that would stand up to bending and everything else people do with headphones. They look fantastic.

Also, in case you missed them, we’ve also got galleries up of the pink Charles Hamilton Beats, and the red LeBron James Beats. Or, you prefer the original, we’ve got the standard Beats by Dr. Dre gallery as well.

Bleeding Edge TV 215: Beats by Dr. Dre Private Listening Session and Impressions

The Gear Live crew got the only private listening session of the newly-announced Beats by Dr. Dre headphones during , and our thoughts are in this episode. Be sure to check out our other Beats by Dr. Dre video, and our Beats by Dr. Dre photo gallery.

I’m what you would refer to as a cost-sensitive buyer. I’m obsessive about value propositions with my purchases. And I would buy the $400 Beats by Dr. Dre headphones by Dre & .

We got a private demo with Monster and had the opportunity to listen to what’s amounted to more than two years of obsessive research and attention to detail. All the materials, the drivers, the amplifier and more are clearly thought out and it shows. The response from these is absolutely incredible. Their intent was to allow you to listen to the music as the producer intended and dare I say it’s as faithful reproduction as you’ll find on a $400 set of headphones. It’s enough that I would buy these before buying the nearest-priced Logitech system for my computer. The bass response was impressive to the Nth—low bass held its tonal quality through a great deal of dynamic range, something not usually seen. The midrange was rich and warm and perfectly presented and the high ends came out just as well.

I’m sad because I really want these. I mean, I was upset that I had to go home tomorrow to my sound system, and that it’s nothing close to how these performed. They were comfortable, sexy, and sounded absolutely incredible.

Try these when they come out in June. But only if you’re prepared to buy them.
