We chat with Discovery Bay about their iPad game accessories that turn the Apple tablet into an actual game board. The accessories include Duo Plink, Yoomi Duo, and Duo Pop. In addition, they've got the Atari Arcade joystick that, in conjunction with the Atari games app, lets you control the old-school retro games with a bona fide controller. You can pick up these Discovery Bay products on Amazon. This was recorded at CES 2012.

Bleeding Edge TV 316: Yelp Monocle Hidden Feature Brings Augmented Reality to iPhone
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Full Episodes, Gizmatic, Apple, Cell Phones, Features, GPS, Handhelds, Podcasts, Videocasts, Videos,
My pal Robert Scoble announced that the Yelp iPhone and iPod touch app that was recently updated included a hidden Augmented Reality feature. Obviously, as soon as we saw, we had to give it a shot, and we figured we’d do it on video. Augmented Reality apps use the camera on the iPhone, along with overlaid information, to present location data while looking at the “real world” - it’s very cool, and you can expect a bunch more of these types of apps to make an appearance on the App Store very shortly upon the release of iPhone OS 3.1.
In this demo, we show you how to unlock the Monocle mode in the Yelp app, and also give you a look at what exactly it does. For now, our early opinion is that it’s a cool idea…it just needs to be refined a bit to be truly useful.

E3 2008: Flock demoed by CAPCOM
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Full Episodes, High Score, Features, Podcasts, Software, Video Games, Videocasts, Videos,
We were able to spend some time with CAPCOM during E3 2008, and they gave us a look at their very fun herding simulator, Flock. Yes, a herding simulator, but they are referring to it as more of a sandbox puzzle game. What they mean by that is that there are many ways to solve any given level, and the user can get creative and choose a method that is most fun for them.
The point of the game is to move farm animals around a quilt-like environment using a UFO of sorts. The quilt is where the world lies, and everything in the game looks to be stitched together, which gives it quite a bit of charm. Depending on how you herd the animals, and change the level, you affect that different ways that you can solve each puzzle. The game is similar to Lemmings, will support co-op online gaming, and will have over 50 levels. If that isn’t enough, there will also be a level editor for you to play with, and you can share any custom level you build online as well. The game will be released on Xbox Live Arcade, Playstation Network, and PC.
Check out the full demo in this episode, and watch out for the awesome Rube Goldberg level near the end.
