New Reality Series for Bristol Palin

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Reality, Cable, News,

Bristol PalinLike mother, like daughter. Bristol Palin is getting her own reality series with The Bio Channel. Ten episodes have been ordered so television watchers can see the exploits of Sarah Palin’s oldest offspring. This will not be Bristol’s first foray into the reality genre; she was previously seen on Dancing With the Stars.

The series will show Bristol’s move from Alaska to LA with her son Tripp. She’ll be living with Kyle Massey and his brother Christopher. Massey is best-known for his roles on The Disney Channel, particularly That’s So Raven.

Sarah Palin Quits Alaska Show?

Don’t act surprised. Rumor has it that the woman who resigned as Alaska’s governor has decided to walk away from her TLC reality show.

It seems that Sarah Palin’s Alaska -- which was based on enjoying everything the state has to offer -- has reached the end of its one-season run. TLC just might have to give Kate Gosselin another show.

TLC has offered no official comment, but producer Mark Burnett has not returned to Wasilla, Alaska to begin work on Season 2. The show nabbed 3.2 million viewers with its premiere, big numbers for cable, and sources say that Palin enjoyed making the show.

So why would she quit while she’s ahead? Most are speculating that the former politician wants to be ready for the upcoming election season, and she just can’t commit to reality TV and being the next president all at the same time.

Be afraid. Be very, very afraid.

Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin’s Sarah Palin Rant

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Gossip,

The caribou-killing episode of Sarah Palin’s Alaska is still making waves in the media, despite Palin’s accusatory, attempted Facebook damage control. Screenwriter Aaron Sorkin, who recently penned The Social Network, pulled no punches in a recent rant published by The Huffington Post. He called the reality politician “deranged” and accused her of making “snuff films.”

"Like 95% of the people I know, I don't have a visceral (look it up) problem eating meat or wearing a belt," he wrote. "But like absolutely everybody I know, I don't relish the idea of torturing animals,” Sorkin fired.

VIDEO: Kate Gosselin Goes Camping with Sarah Palin

Posted by Veronica Santiago Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Video,

Kate Gosselin will soon be forced to learn a very hard lesson: There are no tanning booths in the wilderness.

Later this weekend on Sarah Palin's reality series, two of TLC's most controversial personalities will finally get a chance to meet. That is when Kate will drag her brood of eight to the other side of the country to meet the former governor and her family.

We've already seen how Dancing with the Stars' Tony Dovolani can react when frustrated by Gosselin -- but how will Palin respond when Kate cries, "I’m freezing to the bone" or "I'm hungry!"? Find out this Sunday when the two unite on Sarah Palin's Alaska.

PETA Pissed at Palin

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Video,

Sarah Palin’s Alaska is not for the faint of heart. The former(?) politician has already ruffled a few feathers among the animal-loving community for some of the more graphic scenes in her TLC reality show, and now PETA is pretty PO’ed.

Dan Matthews, vice president of PETA, took exception to a recent scene where Sarah Palin killed a caribou on camera. "Sarah seems to think that resorting to violence and blood and guts may lure people into watching her boring show. But the ratings remain as dead as the poor animals she shoots," he said in a recent statement.

But Sarah anticipated as much, firing a few preemptive strikes through social media before the episode even aired. "Tonight's hunting episode 'controversial'?" She asked her Facebook followers. "Really? Unless you've never worn leather shoes, sat upon a leather couch or eaten a piece of meat, save your condemnation of tonight's episode. I remain proudly intolerant of anti-hunting hypocrisy."

Quote of the Day: Sarah Palin on Judge Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell on American Idol

“[Simon] Cowell can be a little harsh at times, but he upholds the highest standards and something in us recognizes and responds to that. Unfortunately Cowell is almost alone in his willingness to tell hard truths.”

PBS Cuts Sarah Palin Jokes from Tina Fey Speech

Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Award Shows, Specials, PBS, Gossip, Video,

Tina Fey was awarded the Mark Twain Prize on PBS last Sunday, but viewers didn’t get to hear all of her speech. Fey made the following comments about conservatism and Sarah Palin:

"And, you know, politics aside, the success of Sarah Palin and women like her is good for all women -- except, of course, those who will end up, you know, like, paying for their own rape kit 'n' stuff. But for everybody else, it's a win-win. …Unless you're a gay woman who wants to marry your partner of 20 years -- whatever. But for most women, the success of conservative women is good for all of us. …Unless you believe in evolution. You know what? Actually, I take it back. The whole thing's a disaster."
