Charlie Sheen Up For American Idol

Charlie Sheen wants to be an American Idol judge.
The Anger Management star says he would consider joining the judging panel of the singing show if the money was good enough and program bosses donated part of his salary to charity, after producer Nigel Lythgoe said he wanted him to get involved.
"If the numbers move the needle AND Idol matches 20% of my weekly salary for Autism Speaks, JDRF, and the Boys and Girls Club ... then the hell with it. As we say, pour the smoke. (sic)" he said.
However, the gossip website reports that the actor would only agree to a deal if FX, which airs Anger Management, were happy with him appearing on Fox.
American Idol is currently judged by Jennifer Lopez, Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson and though there is speculation the panel is set for some changes, Katy Perry won't be anyone's replacement.

Ryan Seacrest Shocked by Kourtney Kardashian Birth Footage
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Reality, Cable, Features, Video,
Ryan Seacrest was "shocked" when he saw Kourtney Kardashian's labor footage.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians executive producer admits it was difficult to find a balance on how much detail to broadcast when the reality TV star gave birth to her son Mason, now two, and thinks the brunette beauty would have "loved" for the unedited film to have been screened.
"I remember looking at the raw footage of Kourtney having Mason, the baby. I'd never seen a delivery in that much detail. Half of me was interested, but I was shocked that she essentially reached down and delivered her own baby. And I was like, 'How much are we going to show of this?' And I realized that they were more qualified women to make this decision. She would have loved for us to air the entire thing. But I remember thinking, 'How far do we go?'"
Ryan is pleased with the "complete turn" which Kourtney's boyfriend Scott Disick has made in recent years to the extent he is now a firm favorite with fans: "He's become a very popular character. He's made a complete turn. I've seen him out, and people walk right past me and go take a picture with him. They are very excited to see him."

Dina Lohan to Produce Reality TV Show
Posted by Andru Edwards Categories: Drama, Reality, News,
Lindsay Lohan's mother has created her own reality TV show.
Dina Lohan - who has played a very big role in her daughter's career - will produce new real-life series, DramaMamas, about parents who try to help their children make it big in the entertainment industry. The show will chronicle the journey of launching a Broadway-bound musical from "page to pag"' while showcasing the young talents and the ambitious mothers behind them.
"There is nothing more important to me than a parent standing behind their child and helping them fulfil their dreams," Dina said.
It will take the audience "behind the scenes of The White Plains Performing Arts Center's theatre company," with producers promising to take the audience "on a roller coaster adventure."
Production for the series begins this weekend and will run through the summer, although a TV network is yet to buy the project.
Kevin Jonas to Star in Reality TV Series

Kevin Jonas is to star in his own reality TV show. The 24-year-old singer and his wife Danielle will appear in E!'s Married to Jonas - on which Ryan Seacrest will act as the executive producer - and will tell the tale of how the pair, who married in 2009, are dealing with their lives in the international spotlight.
"Danielle is living a true Cinderella story after marrying into pop royalty, partnering in Kevin's larger-than-life career and becoming a 'Jonas,' a name synonymous with hit music and a worldwide fan base. The series presents a unique look at a young couple and their families from two entirely different worlds, one small town and one dealing with international fame, coming together as one and starting a whole new life together," said Lisa Berger, president of entertainment programming for E!.
Ryan - who is best known as a presenter on American Idol - reveals plans have been in motion for some time to create a show, which will begin airing in August, based around the couple: "I vividly recall believing from the very first time that I met them that the Jonas Brothers would, without a doubt, become a worldwide cultural sensation. When we learned that Dani married Kevin, our production team became curious about what life would be like for a young bride entering the excitement, and sometimes chaos, of a pop star's life. The show will examine the ups and downs of Dani and Kevin's marriage, against the backdrop of their contrasting family cultures, traditions and individual careers."
Simon Cowell Speaks Out
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip,
“The show is not an inherently mean show, it is an American dream show,” these were Simon Cowell’s words as he rushed to the defense of FOX and America’s favorite reality program, American Idol. “If you’re not great, you’re going to get criticism.”
Cowell recently spoke out about the show itself, what fans can expect from the new season and the recent tragic events surrounding his fellow judge. “First of all, we’re talking about a tragedy here, and I don’t want to refer to her as a stalker,” Cowell said of Paula Goodspeed, the woman who killed herself just outside judge Paula Abdul’s home. “What happened was awful. It hit us like an express train.”

Two Heroes Producers Shown the Door

Operation “Stop the Bleeding” has just been put into effect at NBC.
After weeks of disappointing ratings, the network has chosen to make some changes on the Heroes set. Late this weekend, the show’s co-executive producers were given the boot.
According to Variety, Jesse Alexander and Jeph Loeb’s firings were a result of bad numbers all around. In addition to the show’s disappointing Monday results, production continuously exceeds the $4 million weekly budget.
This news comes on the heels of other programming decisions recently made by the Peacock network. Just last week, NBC altered its Wednesday and Friday lineups.

NBC Lines Up Another Celeb-Reality Show
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Comedy, Drama, Prime Time, Reality, NBC, Announcements, News, Rumors,
Because we can apparently never have enough celebrity reality shows, NBC is currently developing yet another one.
Realizing that perhaps the very out there circus atmosphere was not their forté, producers have opted to focus on resorting to what they do best: partying!
Well, okay, maybe not the Paris Hilton kind of party, but the more formal kind. A typical episode for Celebrity Come Dine With Me will feature one celebrity who hosts a dinner party for his or her famous friends. At the end of the night, the party will be judged on presentation, food, and entertainment value.
Sounds kind of lame to you, too, right? I mean, I love watching celebrities, but watching them eat and be entertained doesn’t interest me all too much. I say that knowing that the show has found “success” in 16 other countries.

Lost Producers Talk Time Travel at Comic Con Panel
Posted by Robin Paulson Categories: Drama, Prime Time, Sci-Fi/Horror, ABC, Lost, Announcements, Features, Gossip, Rumors, Spoilers,
Producers Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse appealed to Lost fans everywhere (well, more so those that actually were lucky enough to attend Comic Con) as they graced us with answers tasty enough to almost make us forget that we still have quite awhile to go until Season Five airs on our televisions.
In the clip above, Darlton confirms that in terms of time travel, the fast forwards on Lost can in no way be altered. While the truth failed to hinder my own theories, I cannot say the same for many others’ postulations. I really wish that they could have thrown us a bigger bone, but it is still better than no tidbits to gnaw on.
In other clips (seen after the jump), the producers joke about Mischa Barton, comment on missed characters, and later swear that they actually do know what they are doing!

American Idol Faces Lawsuit
Posted by K.C. Morgan Categories: Music, Prime Time, Reality, FOX, American Idol, Gossip,
Could there be trouble brewing behind the scenes of the world’s biggest singing stage? The American Federation of Musicians has filed a lawsuit against American Idol producers. The damages sought by the union is currently unspecified.
The suit claims that American Idol Productions Inc. and Tick Tock Productions Inc. (a subsidiary) violated a bargaining agreement by underpaying musicians. According to the terms of the contract, musicians receive royalties for re-runs.
Since 2007, however, the soundtrack for past episodes was cut out and new musicians hired to record new music for episodes of American Idol Rewind. The musicians’ union was not informed of this decision.
So, far the powers-that-be at American Idol have offered no comment on the suit.

ABC Digs Up The Mole

When ABC’s The Mole first hit TVs in 2001, Survivor was ruling the network roost for reality TV. The Mole‘s highly complicated and manipulative game won viewers over until 2004, after the series had started featuring celebrities. It’s been gone for about four years - that’s a whole lot of viewing seasons. So why is ABC bringing The Mole back now?
Hosted by Anderson Cooper in the beginning seasons, The Mole showed off beautiful locales and intense challenges. The premise of the show is that a single contestant - placed there by the producers - is there to sabotage all the others. But only that one person, you see, really knows who the saboteur is. Everyone tries to guess the identity of The Mole, while some masquerade as The Mole to throw the others off. Even the viewers have no idea who The Mole is, which turns all of us into sideline detectives.
