Prince has "crazy comic instincts."

The "Purple Rain" hitmaker has filmed a guest role in New Girl alongside Zooey Deschanel and Jake Johnson - who plays Jess and Nick - and impressed everyone working on the show with his "incredible" performance. "He's genuinely funny. He's got a very quiet, wry sense of humor but he kills. There's a moment in the episode where he's sitting in between Zooey and Jake on a bench. And it's a silent beef and he's just looking between them trying to figure them out. And it's hilarious. He has crazy comic instincts," executive producer Dave Finkel said.

Sofia Vergara Named Highest Paid US TV Actress

Sofia VergaraSofia Vergara has been named the highest paid US TV actress for a second year running.

The Modern Family star reportedly earned a whopping $30 million between June 2012 and June 2013, from both her role on the hit sitcom and numerous endorsement deals, which is more than double the income of her closest rival, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actress Mariska Hargitay. The brunette beauty's $30 million windfall puts her comfortably ahead of Mariska, 49, who earned $11 million over the last year, according to financial magazine Forbes.

Emily Deschanel Wants New Girl Cameo with Sister Zooey

Emily and Zooey DeschanelEmily Deschanel wants to star with her sister Zooey in New Girl. The Bones actress has revealed she is planning to make a cameo appearance in her sibling's hit sitcom about hapless 20-something Jess Day, and would jump at the chance to join her on set as soon as she has some time off.

"Zooey played my cousin on an episode of Bones a couple of seasons ago and we've talked about me coming in to do New Girl. We shoot on the same lot, so if we weren't so busy it might be really easy to swing on by and play a part. It's hard to get a few hours off, let alone a couple of days to do her show. I watch every episode as soon as I can when I'm not working," she said.

Because the pair play polar opposite characters in their respective shows - Emily plays serious-minded forensic anthropologist Dr. Temperance Brennen - people assume they are different in real life, but the 36-year-old star thinks they share the same core values from growing up in the same family.

Zooey Deschanel in New GirlIt must be pretty good to be Zooey Deschanel right now.

After just two episodes of her new comedy, New Girl, Fox has picked the series up for a full season of 24 episodes. Judging from its high ratings (it even beat its lead-in, Glee!), it's not quite a surprise.

"We love the charming Zooey Deschanel and the entire cast, we're knocked out with the work that [creator] Liz Meriwether and the whole staff is doing and we are really psyched about the coming episodes in the pipeline. It's great that audiences have responded so positively so far and we're confident that even more people will embrace the show—and more comedy on Fox—this season," said Kevin Reilly, president of Entertainment at Fox.

New Girl -- which also stars Max Greenfield and Hannah Simone -- airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. on Fox.
